A pair of early goals, including a blast from Jon Stead (pictured) helped Sheffield United post a 2-1 upset victory against Manchester City in FA Cup play on Sunday.

Two goals in the first 24 minutes of the match gave Sheffield all the cushion it needed as City could only muster a Daniel Sturridge goal three minutes into the second half.

Sheffield United, which upset Bolton in the previous round, now advances to the fifth round of the tournament.

Also advancing on Sunday was Manchester United, which handled Tottenham, 3-1, on Sunday. An early Robbie Keane strike was cancelled out by a Carlos Tevez goal before Cristiano Ronaldo sealed the victory for the Red Devils with a pair of goals.

  1. First Sheffield goal was thru the balloons. And I’d hardly call the Stead goal a ‘blast’. He sidefooted a blocked shot in from about the penalty hash. Good finish but far from a blast.

  2. I hate Michael Dawson. Stupidest red card ever.

The second Sheffield Utd. goal was hilarious. The penalty area was flooded with balloons and the ball got lost as it was crossed in. The Sheffield player was able to pick it out first and knocked it in.
