This weekend’s soccer on TV

Call it the calm before the storm.

The Champions League returns this week with some amazing match-ups. Unfortunately, the weekend before those match-ups is light on marquee fixtures. With the FA Cup in action this weekend you have one amazing match, Arsenal vs. Manchester United, but you’ll need to see that at a bar or pub (or pay per view perhaps?). Aside from that, the FA Cup matches aren’t all that intriguing.

Leave it to La Liga and Serie A to pick up the slack. AS Roma-Juventus is the best match on TV this weekend, while big boys Real Madrid, AC Milan and Barcelona will all be playing TV games this weekend.

A match you don’t want to miss? How about Bayern Munich-Hannover 96. Watch Steve Cherundolo take on the big boys (and Sal Zizzo possibly make the bench).

  3. I’m really excited for Arsenal vs Manchester United. So many injuries for Arsenal! I just read a list but they’ll fight it out and keep it up! I have to be positive. Man. Utd. must go down!

  5. Once again, I reiterate my request to post times for the under-appreciated Copa Libertadores for our friends unfamiliar with this fabulous tournament, that meets and/or exceeds everyone’s fave, Champions League, play. You’re truly missing out—and I’m surprised Ives has not mentioned the early matches involving Peruvian teams that have provided a nice surprise, especially San Martin’s upset of River Plate! Y Dale Peru!

  6. There is another site that is similiar to SoccerTV.com. Check out LiveSoccerTV.com for game schedules.

Also, ESPN 360 definitely shows Champions League games. During the group stage, they were showing 3 or 4 games per day (so 6-8 games a week). It’s great!

  7. For those lucky enough to have ESPN360 but not FSC or GolTV, we still have Serie A:

    Saturday:
9:55 AM ET : Inter vs Livorno
11:55 AM ET : Parma vs Milan
2:25 PM ET : Juventus vs Roma
    Sunday:
8:55 AM ET : Fiorentina vs Catania

Also looks like there will be some UCL on ESPN360 as well.

  8. Hey Ives. Thanks for posting this. Without soccertv.com, I feel kinda lost. Do you know of any similar sites out there? Have a good weekend.
