  1. “It was nice – unlike his performance last night against Reading. He was the worst player on the field and made some horrific errors. We’ll see how it impacts his playing time next week.”

Considering he’s the captain of Watford, odds are he will be playing next week. I actually thought he played quite well for how horrible the defense looked overall. Demerit made some superb blocks on shots in the box, was positioned well, and was basically let down by his other defenders and the goalie (WTF was the goalie doing on the third goal?).

  2. CARL,

I lived in Italy for 5 years and I always bought my AC Milan tickets from scalpers, but if you don’t speak Italian or you don’t trust scalpers (they are very shady over there) go to ticketone.it

It is where I used to buy my concert tickets and Champions League tickets. If you get the chance while in Rome go to the ristorante Gatto Matto. Cheap prices and the best food in Rome. Hope this helps.

  3. Middlesbrough and Sunderland…simply painful to watch. Bar two flashes of brilliance by each side on their goals, this game was an exhibition in poor ball delivery and clumsy fouls. I don’t think I can recall watching a game in which so many poor crosses were sent in, and so many set pieces were squandered. Both these teams are fighting relegation, and it’s not hard to see why.

  5. Villarreal should let Jozy go on loan if he is not going to even make the bench.

VCF 3 – Valencia 3 Rossi with an assist and goal from P.K

  6. Great pass there from Landycakes, Freddy not playing at all today is very disapointing, what does he have to do to get some time on the field…

  7. CSD – thanks for the Demerit interview link. It was nice – unlike his performance last night against Reading. He was the worst player on the field and made some horrific errors. We’ll see how it impacts his playing time next week. Fortunately for him, Watford’s defense is notoriously bad so there may not be anyone to replace him.

  8. There might be SOME good news for us yanks:

USMNT and AGF Aarhus midfielder Benny Feilhaber has breathed a sigh of relief after a recent MRI revealed that no further operation will be necessary.

Feilhaber, who had only a single hour-long appearance for the Danes before the latest knee woe knocked him out of action is targeting an on-field return after the winter break.

“Everything is moving along nicely,” the Gold Cup hero told YA. “The doctor decided I didnt need surgery after the latest MRI.”

“He felt the meniscus looked good and there was very minimal damage to the cartilage, and therefore only a 45-60 day physcial therapy would be enough to get me back on the field.”

The American who suffered through Derby County’s miserable 2007/08 season after joining from Hamburg, is looking forward to rejoining Aarhus and fellow national teamer Jeremiah White before the league resumes in the spring.

“I’ve been rehabbing now for about four weeks, so in another month I should be close to training,” Feilhaber said. “Right now I am set to leave Brazil and go back to Denmark late January or early February.”

  9. 3-2 Valencia Villarreal in the 83rd minute.

Is there any doubt that David Villa is the best striker in the world right now? Sure Messi, Eto’o, Toni, Torres, Ibrahimovic, and Aguero are talented like GOD, but Villa is a legend.

  10. God, Zanetti rules. The guy just can’t be knocked off the ball. Is there anyone who wouldn’t want this guy on their team? He’s like John Riggins with ball skills.

    Inter’s kinda sucking today, though.

  15. Adu just needs time in a STABLE system, burning through coaches has a deleterious effect on development. IE like Altidore’s place @ Villarreal, sure he is not getting time, but there is the potential for growth within the system.

  17. Adu needs to LEAVE ASM pronto. Unless he picked up some type of knock that we don’t know about, it is borderline ridiculous that after a showing against JUVE that had RANIERI singing his praises, Freddy can’t even make the BENCH against Nantes? Give me a break-awful situation for one of our brightest prospects-needs to get on a team w/ a coach who is going to put him on the field.

  18. I was going to link a site with the highlights of the Bayern game, but I noticed the site has ads of women exposing themselves, and I don’t want Ives banning me from here. 🙂 Also, Carl, I’m almost positive the Milan-Roma game it tomorrow.

  20. Speaking of Landy, should he be starting in our World Cup campaign (probable), he MUST shave his head, would look much more bad ass than receding hairline.

  21. “The Bavarians’ left flank again caught the eye as Philipp Lahm, Ze Roberto and Franck Ribery staged a number of intelligent passing interchanges, while Donovan looked mobile on his maiden outing in a Bayern jersey, narrowly failing to net a tricky half-volley but setting up Schweinsteiger for the equaliser with an intelligent pass into the inside-right channel.

FCB boss Klinsmann made nine changes at half-time, with only US star Donovan and full-back Lell completing the full 90 minutes. The run-out represented a chance for squad players such as Jose Sosa, Breno and Andreas Ottl to impress alongside more established figures in the shape of fit-again Hamit Altintop and Tim Borowski.”

  23. Fulham and Portsmouth game have been post-poned, so will have to wait a while for Dempsey to hit his next brace. Will be a competition to see who ends up as the highest scorer this season, him or AJ.
