That sound you hear is Manchester United beginning to run away with the English Premier League.
Yes, they are only two points ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool, but the Red Devils could widen the gap as the Blues and Reds square off in a battle to stay in the title race.
Chelsea-Liverpool is the marquee match-up in a very good weekend of soccer action. From the latest Boca Juniors-River Plate encounter, to Tim Howard's Everton facing his old club Manchester United, there is plenty to choose from for the soccer fan with some time to enjoy some matches.

Which matches will you be making sure to watch? Will you be skipping the Super Bowl for 'El Gran Clasico'? Will you be hitting the pub for Chelsea-Liverpool?

Ives–dont forget that Brazilian Soccer on GolTV starts this Sunday!! They will begin their broadcasts by first hsowing matches form Campeonato Paulista and then from May to December they will show the Brazilian League.
This Sunday at 5 pm
Campeonato Paulista- Palmeiras vs Ponte Preta Live
i will watch the SuperBowl–Boca-River sounds interesting but it is only the torneo de verano which is nothing more than the argentine preseason. I will watch Boca-River when it happens when it really counts–Torneo Clausura.
The Argentine Clausura begins the week of Feb 8th.
12:15pm- FSC- Birmingham at Sheffield Wednesday
12:30pm- FSC- Everton at Manchester United
Championship games are now limited to 15 minutes! 🙂
could you include in the future the games that are shown on espn360? I have access to that but not television.
Ives, I miss the top 5 or top 10 weekend matches feature. Can you bring it back???
nico – i think that is supposed to be on Setanta, not FSC… but im too lazy to look it up
costa rica wins 1-0
Screw the SuperBowl; I’m watching Boca-River Plate. Some other great EPL matchups as well that you highlight.
Also on Sunday:
Pachuca vs. Atlante, 1pm, Univision
Santos vs. Puebla, 5pm, Telefutura
What happened to Guatemala in UNCAF Cup. Never saw that coming
Tonight on Galavision …
Semis of UNCAF Nations Cup
6 PM – Costa Rica vs. El Salvador
9 PM – Honduras vs. Panama
Final is on Sunday at 7 PM (I think some other game will be on then, too ..)
Nico, I’m sure thats going to be on Setanta and not FSC.
The La Liga games are so uninteresting it is as if they counter-scheduled against the Super Bowl, knowing we Americans wouldn’t care to watch a Numancia or Almeria.

“12:15pm- FSC- Birmingham at Sheffield Wednesday”…?
River vs Boca, can’t wait.
I hope Chelsea-Liverpool is more entertaining than previous encounters. Quite possibly the worst big-4 match-up to watch.
