  1. Not a great game overall. If I’m a DCU fan, I’d be a bit concerned over some of the tactics coming from the bench. I did want to say how it kind of caught me off guard how young the Revs have gotten over the last year or so. From what I can tell, only Reis, TT, Ralston, Joseph, Castro and Heaps are over 25. They may not win the cup this year, but Nicol is loaded for the next several years.

  2. Time, extra 2 minutes, ran out setting up the free kick, after the play was over, the ref blew the game over. That’s all, nothing wrong with it.

  3. What a goal from Ben Olsen, love how he doesn’t take the typical panzy route in going head to head with someone, just wish he could have got away with busting Thompson in his mouth…

Also, some great MLS officiating again, what the hell was that whistling the game over that early??

  4. Hey Ives What’s up with the “respect marriage” advertisements? Those things are offensive. I don’t think you put them up, but tell whoever puts up advertisements to keep them off SBI. That’s not what this site’s about.

Freedom of speech, guy. There isn’t anything offensive about having a dissenting opinion. Plus it gives this site revenue.

  6. I don’t think he dived, ‘cuz there definitely was contact, but I don’t think it was a foul either, just two dudes going for the ball.

  7. i love how after Ben Olsen scores the goal (having jostled with Wells Thompson to do so) he gets in his face for his celebration. That’s great drama and rivalry. Classic.

  9. Although I’m not happy about him stopping that shot, this Knighton kid apparently ain’t bad. How did he not make the U-17 roster for their championship?

  10. Wallace and Pontius look good on the wings and the trio of Emilio-Moreno-Gomez is sharp so I give about 25 minutes before DC finds ‘the old onion bag’.

  11. ugh. this match is pretty stale. It’s funny how the disparity in attacking flair and excitement between teams like NE/DCU and RSL/Seattle translates into success. I feel like games like this and ones between Chicago and Chivas are watching different leagues. I can’t wait until MLS has new salary cap and player restriction rules (or lack thereof) when franchises are able to build teams they really want, and bland boring teams like NYRB and Dallas are exciting like RSL and Seattle.

  12. is like no one else watchin this game? that sucks.

  13. half time and DC clearly the more dominent team. Not sure their formation is optimal but that is Soehn. Would like to see Moreno subbed relatively early in the 2nd half, Pontius moved to forward and Tino coming in at right wing. Liking Gomez tonight.

  14. Emilio attacks at the other end but shot is off target. 32 min, DC has controlled, as seen in shots (6-2) and corners (4-0).

  15. 30′ – Revs get first shot on goal, off a free kick from Larentowicz which takes a deflection before Crayton gets it.

  16. btw- right before the match NE announced Albright has injured his knee. Thus Igwe at RB. Alston is better than Albright anyway, but he’s hurt too.
