Michael Orozco scored the lone goal of the Americans Abroad contingent this weekend when he netted in San Luis' 3-1 loss to Santos. Orozco's 83rd minute goal prevented a shut-out defeat as he got on the end of a cross and beautifully headed the ball past infamous Oswaldo Sanchez.

Midfielder Maurice Edu continued his string of successive starts with Rangers as he got the nod in their crucial league tilt with Heart of Midlothian. Edu, who enjoyed his fourth straight start, went 90 minutes in the 2-0 win.

It was not all positive this weekend, however. Michael Bradley and Borussia Moenchengladbach fell, 2-1, to Bayern Munich on Saturday, which leaves the club in the drop zone of the German Bundesliga and three points away from safety.

What do you think of these performances? Impressed with Orozco's snap-header goal? Think he deserves more time with the national team? Think Edu will start one of the next two World Cup qualifiers? Is it time for Michael Bradley to find a new club?

The list of US players playing in Mexico seems to get longer and longer. I hope we can cap those boys before Mexico does.

Where is Bryan Arguez on Hertha Berlin? I know he isn’t getting on the bench, but he deserves a mention considering he is even on the roster of a Bundesliga team fighting for the title.

  • Nick

I don’t think Torres started, he came off the bench and played about 30 min in the second half.

    Orozco goal was nice.

Marco Vidal good for him, hopefully he plays well.

Hopefully, one of the leauge one teams with americans get promoted.

Johnson, Whitbred, and Grella are all teams in the the promotion playoffs so odds are one of them will end up in the Championship…

I love how grella is getting minutes as a new player

Great to see Spector back in contention.
Great to see Edu making it happy.
Great to see Adu at least making the bench.

    “Freddy Adu dressed”

As in suit & jacket or actually dressed as a professional footballer on game day?

I’m just tired of seeing his talent go to waste in Europe. It’s a shame. The kid needs to see the field.

  • CrispyST3

How long do you think will it take for Zizzo to start getting regular minutes???

    Gold Cup lineup:

Should be a good time in the Gold Cup for the young ones.

  • CrispyST3

I think Guzan would go to Africa with Timmy and the rest of the squad. Altidore is too, Edu is too, and maybe Torres. So with all due respect i can see it more like this

Szetela’s spot is questionable, but i dont see Edu not going to Africa, Torres also, but with him u can never know, I hope Zizzo is called in also so he can show his stuff, I really don’t like Cooper, he’s just….idk, i dont like him, but sum1 else up there wouldnt hurt, Bobby Convey can be called up, maybe Beckermen can help, we got alot of possibilities

I thought we learned in the olympics that orozco isn’t a left back. Not that he played badly but he is just a better centerback.

I specifically remember robbie rogers leaving orozco exposed a lot though.

  • Al17

Rennes were definitely lucky beat us in Paris, own goal.

Good news is that many of you should be able to watch the Coupe de France Finale this Saturday May 9 on Setanta. Rennes (Ligue1) takes on Guigamp (Ligue2) and it’s a good chance to Carlos Bocanegra continue to shine for Rennes this season.

  • Brian

Guzan and others can go to Africa and still play in the Gold Cup! How crazy would it be for Altidore to go to the Confed Cup and then not play in the Gold Cup? It’s not like he’s worn down from playing all year in Spain.

  • CrispyST3

True, u got a point Brian, but i think others need a chance too you know

  • afc

Where is Jon-Paul Pittman? Is he going to be included now? He and Wycombe are now promoted to League One. Not bad for a guy who started the season in the conference. Arrived in January and got 3 goals and 4 assists for Wycombe (at least 1 goal was a game winner). 13 goals and 5 assists total if you add his stats from the team he started the season with.

  • PetedeLA

Thanks for the info, Tommy. One can’t help but notice the ace in his corner– an E.U. passport. I’m sure that’s been a stumbling block for many an American talent.

  • Dominghosa

Peterlin can’t play under a better manager. Exciting news for the kid.
