Wesley Sneijder is enjoying one of the greatest seasons a soccer player could have.

After winning the UEFA Champions League, Serie A title and Coppa Italia with Inter Milan, Sneijder has guided the Netherlands to the World Cup final.

Naturally, club teams from around the world would love to pay the hefty price tag and install Sneijder in their respective midfields. Reports have circulated that Manchester United was preparing a £29 million bid for the creative playmaker.

It appears as if Sneijder is staying in Milan, though, as he has reportedly stated that he will play for the European champions and new coach Rafa Benitez this upcoming season.

For what (non-MLS) team would you like to see Sneijder play? What do you think Sneijder should do? Do you think he would find success in the Premier League? Do you think Inter can repeat as Champions League winners with him back?

  1. Sneijder is a baller, and an underrated one at that. I think he’d play well in any league, though I’m happy to see he’s not interested in huge transfer fees or massive pay raises.

  2. He is right where he needs to be. Plus, Ruud says he’s getting ready to marry one of the most beautiful women in the world. I’d say leaving Madrid was the best career move he could’ve made.

  4. Lesson learned: Go to Madrid if you want your career to stall or die.

Yes there are exceptions blah blah blah…

  5. He should go to Man Utd. Their 1st team coach is another dutchman. I had the opportunity to meet Rene and he is an amazing guy and an amazing coach.

  6. Has any player ever won a League/Cup Double, European Cup and World Cup all in the same year?

I’m trying to find one and so far have been stumped, leading me to believe Sneijder would be the first, if NL wins.

  7. He’s a soft player. Technically brilliant, but very soft. He’ll get eaten alive in England. He should stay far away unless he wants both legs in casts. Stay at Inter, become a San Siro legend.

  8. Internacional or Sao Paulo in Brazil. Or Chivas Guadalajara.

But…I’m assuming that he doesn’t want to leave Europe, so he should stay at Inter. They are without question the best team in the world so there is no reason for him to leave.

  9. £29 million is an insulting bid in today’s market. Even though I think huge transfer fees are normally stupid to pay, he deserves at least £40 million in today’s market.

  10. Bizarre post, you follow up he is staying, with where do you want to see him play ?….and then you include NON MLS.

Why would I care which Non-MLS team, he isn’t signing with, is an anonymous guys favorite ?

  11. Agreed. Off-loading Snejder (and Robben) now looks idiotic. I would have liked to see Perez’s face while Snejder comprehensively outplayed Kaka in the Brazil/Netherlands game. Other than Barca, that guy would immediately and dramatically upgrade of the midfield of any club team, including Man U, Chelsea, Bayern and, of course, Madrid.

  12. I don’t know why United would try to sign him or expect Inter to let him go. He was the key player on a treble winning team, and he’s only been there a year. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a United fan and he would a dream addition, but let’s be realistic. Maybe if he’d played there for years and he was ready to leave, but did they really think Inter would let him go after one year, and in that year they won everything?

  13. How does Real Madrid get rid of Robben and Sneijder? They couldn’t afford them if they wanted them back. Sneijder for Kaka was a downgrade.
