The second day of UEFA Champions League group play kicks off Wednesday afternoon, with Jose Mourinho making his return to the competition after guiding Inter Milan to the title last season.

Mourinho's Real Madrid meets Ajax Amsterdam in one of the top matches of the day. Although he isn't on his team's Champions League roster, Oguchi Onyewu has a stake in today's action as well. His AC Milan faces AJ Auxerre in the other Group G battle, and considering the depth of the group, Milan would love to take all three points from its French counterpart.

Another highlight of the day's slate is 2010 runner-up Bayern Munich squaring off with AS Roma.

  1. dude can someone explain the popularity of twitter to me? i know like 2 years back Ashton kutcher did commercials about it or how he thought it was awesome, but why has it exploded? I thought FB was GOD.

  2. Hey Ives, I see you’re tweeting about Tchani’s GA status, how many games does he have to play this season to lose it, and how many has he played so far? How long does his GA contract last for anyway?

  3. I have Dish. I switched because I could get Dish cheaper, but after a year the price wound up about the same. I’ll be out of my contract in Feb and will go back to Direct, which is better for the soccer fan anyway (dish doesn’t have Gol on any package, and ESPN Classic is only on the most expensive one). From what I hear, Direct gives you champions league games with any decent package.

  4. I really wish Liverpool were in the CL this season. But way to go Arsenal. I shall never support ManUre or Chelsea scum, so you go Gunners go!

  5. Definitely JFC. I use that at work, but it’d be nice to come home to a couple recorded games. If that means I need to switch to DirecTV then so be it.
