For the second straight game, No. 2 Louisville snatched victory in double overtime to clinch the Big East regular-season title with a 2-1 victory over No. 19 South Florida.

Kenny Walker put the Cardinals ahead in the 30th minute with a blast from 30 yards out. T.J. Rohen equalized for USF with 19 minutes left in regulation. Two minutes into the second overtime, Nick DeLeon scored his second golden goal in as many games with a header past Jeff Attinella.

Lousiville clinch the Big East with a 7-0-0 conference record and improve to 12-0-2 overall on the season.

No. 12 California avenged their loss to No. 11 UCLA last Sunday with a 1-0 overtime victory against its in-state rivals.

Davis Paul scored the lone goal in 99th minute with a hard shot past UCLA keeper Brian Rowe. With the win, California takes control of the race for the PAC-10 title with a 5-1-1 conference record. UCLA are still hot on their heels with a 9-2-0 record in conference play.

UC-Irvine posted seven goals against Cal-State Fullerton on Saturday. Spencer Thompson, Joel Bagby, Amani Walker, Corey Attaway, Zach Olow, Brett Berman, and Zlatan Kuckovich all got on the scoresheet for the Anteaters. UC-Irvine sits at 5-0-1 in the Big West conference and look likely to claim the regular-season title.

No. 1 Akron captured MAC conference title by defeating Western Michigan 2-1 at Jackson field in Akron. Michael Nanchoff converted a penalty kick five minutes into the second half and Ben Speas added an insurance goal in the 70th minute. Oliver Mayer pulled one back for Western Michigan 30 seconds later but it amounted to little more than a consolation.

  1. As a former UC Irvine Anteater, I can say that UCI’s season only just starts on Saturday. They’ve played no one with any quality yet, so the UCSB game wil be a big test. We’ll see. Should be fun.

  2. How can you say that UC Irvine look likely to claim the regular-season title when UCI is in second place in the Big West, two points behind UC Santa Barbara? Keep in mind they haven’t played each other yet.
