  1. More sadly, you mean their own personal pockets … not FIFA’s in general.

USA ’94 is STILL the leading World Cup in terms of total attendance, despite the competition being increased from 52 to 64 matches starting with France ’98. That ought to be the end of the 2022 discussion.

  2. China was also rumored to be part of 2018 and 2022 bid… just a rumor that people like to throw out since China is capable of hosting. Besides that would rule out all of the Asian bids as Qatar, Korea, Japan and Australia are all part of AFC and not only jeopardize the Aussie bid…

  3. it wont be 2022 australia because FIFA want china in 2026 from what i have read. since australia is in the asian confederation now they have to choose one or the other. but who knows…

  4. I would not be surprised if Russia gets 2018. I would even consider traveling to the cup.

BUT I hope Spain/Port gets it because the weather is much nicer, AND surely the atmosphere will be nothing to mess with either.

  5. I was thinking 2018 Russia and 2022 Australia. FIFA will see a lot of kickbacks from the Russian bid with much less from Australia, which is probably why they put 2 bids together, so they can make money off one of them and bring football to the masses and look like they are doing a good thing for the world of football with the other.
