Jurgen Klinsmann is now the man to help reorganize Toronto FC. The former German international was officially hired as a consultant to help the club through the hiring process of a coach and general manager.

The former coach of the German national team has served in an advising role to the Los Angeles Galaxy and has offered technical guidance to the adidas Elite Soccer Program. His last role, as Bayern Munich coach, ended in 2009 when he was fired.

  1. Klinsmann broke the hearts of American fans and every time I see his picture it still hurts.. I still have hopes of us getting together someday..

  2. Nowhere is there any mention of him being offered the manager’s role. In his consultant’s role he gets to advise the Assistant General Manager and the Director of Football. So he’s at a higher level on the food chain.

This should tell you that one possible reason he has never taken the USMNT job is because he isn’t really interested in managing per se. It seems he would prefer to be a role somewhere between what Gulati and BB currently do, something more big picture than what BB does.

  3. klinsmann is getting more and more involved with soccer in the us. predicting that he will be us nat team coach one day. i feel like he and Gulati have mutual hopes for him to fill the position in the future and that 2010 was just not the right time for it.

  5. Le Toux is such a likeable and honest player. Always working hard and has nothing but nice things to say about his team and fellow players. I just really like that guy and the way he plays. Congrats to him!

  6. There were a number of viable candidates for the Fair Play award; but what put Le Toux over the top was his reasonable and gracious reaction to the news that Edson Buddle had been inexplicably, bizzarely chosen over him as a finalist for MVP.
