  1. How can you say it doesn’t matter!!! oh course it matters, refs are conned in games all the time, and naturally if they get a sensation the player is being dishonest it is going to affect their judgement. Look, NB5 agreed as well.

  2. I don’t know what game you were watching, but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a more blatantly obvious penalty. A foul is a foul is a foul. It makes no difference whether or not the player was being theatrical. If he’s fouled in the box then it’s a penalty. There’s really no room for equivocation.

  3. its not a moot point, the fact that it looked like a clear dive when i first saw, from a better angle the the ref definitely means something. I feel bad for gunners fans but it happens. The foul occurred you did not get the call, partly because so much diving happens in the game, Vela looked like he was simulating, trying to pull an Eduardo.

  4. Arsenal not only lost the game but lost Fabregas to a hamstring injury and Eboue had to be stretchered off with what looked like a badly twisted knee. Not a good night by any stretch of the imagination.

  5. It doesn’t matter that Vela was “ready to fall.” He was very clearly fouled in the box. Whether or not he was overly theatrical while being hacked down is a totally moot point.

  6. Yeah when i first saw it, i yelled out “dive”!,but as i saw on the replay the Braga player got no ball. If Vela hadn’t pulled out the grassy knoll sniper maneuver I think he would have gotten the call.

  7. I agree. I think it would have been a penalty if Vela hadn’t thrown back his arms and legs so quickly and emphatically. If he would have just tripped and fell down I think he’d have had a better chance at getting the call.

  8. uhm, i thought it could have gone either way, honestly it hurt Vela that he was so ready to fall. Plus honestly Arsenal have gotten plenty of calls in previous games. English Commentators are so biased, you would think every single Arsenal challenge is a good one.

  9. a sh*t ghost. that’s what denilson is. he’s invisible for entire matches, and when he does show up, he’s invariably sh*tty.

  10. At this juncture, I think most of us Ajax fans are just hoping that we can hold onto third in the group and get into the knockout stages of the Europa League.

  11. Denilson and Bentner are not good enough to play for Arsenal. How does Wenger not see that? Uggh! It’s so frustrating watching the Gunners mired in mediocrity, when they’re just two or three signings away from being dominant. Wenger needs to stop being such a miser, and splash the cash like pac-man jones this January.
