Seattle Sounders forward Fredy Montero will undergo wrist surgery and is questionable for this weekend's match at San Jose, according to reports out of Seattle.

Montero reportedly suffered the injury in the pre-game warm-up for the match with the New York Red Bulls and played through it — with a wrap around the wrist — last Friday against Houston before team doctors determined he should have the procedure. Should Montero miss the San Jose match, he would be expected to be ready for the following week's home match against Chicago.

What do you think of this development? Who would you like to see start at forward on Saturday if Montero can't play?

  1. Jeremy are you blind? Montero took a dozen dives against Houston, it was outrageous. To be fair, the referee rarely called them.

  2. I’d bet they slip on of their Swiss Army knives into that position: Evans or Fernandez. Poor Fucito can’t catch a break.

  3. While checking out the MLS Matchday phone app, I was surprised to learn that O’Brian White is tied for second in the league in shots on goal (with 4). Now, I don’t know how dangerous those shots were, but they were on frame.

BTW, Montero is the league leader with 9 shots on goal.

  4. Hey man sooner or later one of our forwards is going to score. It may not happen this weekend, but one can always hope the ball somehow bounces off of OBW’s heavy foot and into the net!

  5. The truly funny part of that statement was the last sentence! Hilarious!!

We’re so snakebitten at the moment, I’m pretty certain we could trot Schneider and Messi out there at forward and still not score.

  6. But the good news is we signed Noonan to a 3 month extension! Lol okay I can’t type that without laughing. Here is hoping to Jaqua and OBW somehow connecting on the field and scoring a few goals on Saturday.
