The Los Angeles Galaxy's defense just got a little deeper.
Los Angeles picked up former U.S. U-20 national team defender Kyle Davies, who was placed on waivers by FC Dallas on May 5. The 22-year-old Davies will provide cover at centerback for Omar Gonzalez and A.J. DeLaGarza, and helps a defense that recently lost Leonardo to a season-ending injury.
Davies is no stranger to injuries, however. He missed a chunk of the 2010 season for FC Dallas with a fractured arm, and was sidelined for much of the beginning of this year.
Here are some other stories from around MLS:
Sporting Kansas City signs Sinovic
Sporting Kansas City has bolstered its defense with the signing of Seth Sinovic. The 24-year-old defender entered MLS in 2010 as a second-round draft pick in the MLS SuperDraft, and played in 20 regular season matches last year for the New England Revolution.
Earthquakes host Fire in U.S. Open Cup play-in
The San Jose Earthquakes are set to host the Chicago Fire at Buck Shaw Stadium on May 24 in a U.S. Open Cup play-in game. The winner of the match will advance to the Round of 16 of the main draw of the competition. San Jose and Chicago have never played one another in a U.S. Open Cup play-in.

What do you think of the Galaxy picking up Davies? Expecting Sinovic to have an impact at SKC? What do you think FC Dallas' player announcement will be?

Sinovic is a solid add for KC. consistent, strong and tough. wish him best of luck.
We don’t talk about Sweetin.
That thought crossed my mind for half a second, but of course it’s too good to be true.
Perfect defense for Davies to join
Seth has potential, he has good positioning but seemed to get burned by faster players sometimes. I wish him the best

Seth never played center mid and was taller than Sweetin.
Seth Sinovic to Sporting could be a good fit. He is a native of KC…I played with him in high school. Back then, however, he was the shortest player on the team and played CM.
Thought Galaxy signed CHARLIE Davies at first! Looked like this –> :O
Great pickup for LA. Davies played well when healthy. He likely could have supplanted Ugo Ihemelu as George Johns partner on FCD’s backline..if he stayed healthy.
