The Los Angeles Galaxy reserves are on the board.

Rookie Paolo Cardozo set up both Gregg Berhalter and Adam Cristman, and the Galaxy held on for its first MLS Reserve League victory, a 2-1 result over the Vancouver Whitecaps on Monday.

Cristman's goal in the 73rd minute from the top of the penalty area proved to be the game-winner after Whitecaps rookie Omar Salgado sliced the Vancouver deficit in half with a goal in the 77th minute.

The Galaxy improved to 1-4-0 in reserve play, while Vancouver is still winless at 0-3-1. The teams occupy the bottom two positions in the West Division, respectively.

Highlights of the Galaxy win and a couple of other results from the MLS Reserve League are after the jump:

GUY WINNER LIFTS REVS

New signing Ryan Guy scored off a Diego Fagundez corner kick in the 86th minute to snap a 2-2 tie and lift the New England Revolution to a 3-2 victory over Toronto FC on Tuesday at BMO Field.

Guy, whose goal-line clearance helped salvage a point for the Revs' first team against Chicago over the weekend, also added an assist in the win.

The 16-year-old Fagundez, a Revolution Homegrown Player, tallied assists on all three of New England's goals as the team improved to 2-2-1.

Rookie Demetrius Omphroy tallied both of the goals for Toronto FC (0-2-1).

TIMBERS GET PAST QUAKES

Brandon McDonald's own goal in the 72nd minute capped a wild eight-minute stretch and propelled the Portland Timbers to a 2-1 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes on Tuesday at Jeld-Wen Field.

Portland forward Eddie Johnson snapped a scoreless tie in the 64th minute only to have San Jose's Chris Leitch answer on a blast from distance four minutes later.

Four minutes after that, Sal Zizzo, who assisted on Johnson's goal, sent a cross through the box that McDonald inadvertently hit into his own net to cap the scoring.

Cillian Sheridan, who was on trial recently for the Seattle Sounders, started up top for Portland, which improved to 2-2-1. San Jose fell to 3-2-0.
