Colombia goes atop Group A with win over 10-man Costa Rica

Colombia's finishing may have been poor, but that didn't stop it from winning its Copa America opener against Costa Rica on Saturday.

With Argentina and Bolivia tying in the tournament opener, Colombia took sole possession of first place in Group A with a 1-0 triumph over a 10-man Costa Rica side. Adrian Ramos netted the game's lone goal at the stroke of halftime, giving Colombia the edge after Los Ticos lost Randall Brenes to a red card in the 28th minute.

The Colombians may have won, but they did so with a lackluster performance against Ricardo La Volpe's young side. Costa Rica's 21-year-old goalkeeper, Leonel Moreira, played a big part in shutting down a Colombian attack led by the likes of Ramos and Radamel Falcao, making key save after key save. But he couldn't prevent Colombia from scoring just before halftime when Ramos snuck in behind the defense and finished with relative ease.

Here are the game highlights:

What do you think of Colombia's 1-0 victory? Surprised Costa Rica made things difficult for Colombia? Do you think the tackle was worth a red?
