SBI All-Star Spotlight: Tim Ream

Comments

  1. Standard_Deviance: after watch NY for years, i can’t tell you how many times over the last year and a half i said: ‘oh what a beautiful pass’ that comes off his foot.

he’s just a different player than typically come outta the US. has his faults, which are being better exploited this season. but if he continues to improve, and hopefully he will, we’ll finally have a composed center back in this country.

  3. Ream was a big part of the reason I became a RBNY and MLS fan after the WC, but his form hasn’t been good for either club or country lately. Hopefully this is just a dip in form, but part of me worries that he has enough holes in his game such that he’s already at or near the peak of his abilities and will never be an Int’l caliber CB.

  4. I know I’m going to get crap for this but, Ream is no where near USMNT or MLS All Star level. After just one season in the MLS media people including Ives threw Ream out there as the next in line for the USMNT center back position.
I think before we put him in the USMNT camp he needs to prove it on the club level.

  5. tim ream is the type of player the US needs to move forward. but he needs time to develop at the national level.

it took Bocanegra and others a few years to break into the team. it’s clear a sign of bradley’s desperation and the lack of depth in the US pool Ream got through into the fire.

he could also use a few less idiots like Lalas placing him among the best ever US defenders. accolades come AFTER success.
