The summer of international soccer continues this weekend, as Copa America joins the FIFA U-17 World Cup and FIFA Women's World Cup among the on-going international tournaments.
Host Argentina and defending champion Brazil open their Copa America campaigns on Friday and Sunday against Bolivia and Venezuela, respectively.
Over in Germany, the U.S. women's national team looks to make more headway in reaching the knockout stage of the Women's World Cup by taking on Colombia for the first time ever in its second Group C game on Saturday.
There are plenty of quality MLS matches on the slate as well, as new-look D.C. United and the Philadelphia Union renew their regional rivalry, FC Dallas and Columbus meet in a battle of in-form teams and New York and San Jose square off in a rematch from the 2010 postseason.
Here is the long weekend's soccer on TV:

what makes it more pure?
I used to hear that about the WNBA, too, now those same people aren’t even watching that league.
Pure = polite way of saying lower skill level & more of an even playing-field?
^^ Kinda lame if thats the definition.
Turns out it was about the Belgium friendly.
(False Fire Alarm. Everyone back to their rooms….nothing to see here!)
The U17 has some major talent also…You peeps are crazy
The San Jose game would have been just right at 7:30 PT
Then don’t watch it! Personally I find it much more enjoyable than that horrible U17 tournament which doesn’t resemble soccer. FIFA should not have an official tournament for kids that young — it is obviously to sell players.
disagree…sometimes the women’s game seem more pure to me. The NZL/ENG game was exciting.
it’s some pretty bad soccer for the most part.
I can’t wactch some of those WWC games for more than 5 minutes. Brutal.
Ives, I was wondering where your “Top 10 Matches to Watch List” was. However, I looked at the list above of matches this weekend and I now know why.
you obviously have a loose definition of the term ‘creative’.
Dammit, how am I supposed to DVR a youtube stream…
stupid announcement, fire him and BB, it`s just a letter
Where is Friday Night game, MLS???
play
Best of Luck to the Women’s team (at least they can paly creative soccer).
I hope so, though I’ve heard from reports in Ireland it’s about BB, however I’ll have to say tuned to find out more, maybe the announcement is either later tonight or tomorrow.
Any word on if Gulati is really making some kind of announcement today?
