At this point in the season, losing a team's leading scorer could be devastating. However, Carlos Ruiz's abrupt exit from Philadelphia could bring on an exciting opportunity for young stars Danny Mwanga and Roger Torres. The two have been productive sporadically throughout the year but will be asked to fill a large void that Ruiz left behind.

Philadelphia is just one team that may bring you fantasy success this week, as we have a full slate of games this week that should mean some pretty high scores. Think about using a few transfers this week to ensure you don't fall behind in the standings.

Here are a few more items to consider before setting your fantasy lineup this week:

MULTIPLE GAMES

Kansas City, Salt Lake, Chicago, Philadelphia, Portland, and Los Angeles all play twice this week. Kansas City has two home games, albeit against two tough teams. I still like their chances to extend their 13-game unbeaten streak this week. Los Angeles, unbeaten in 14 matches, has also looked very dangerous as of late, so be sure to play all of your L.A. players.

MFLS WEEK 22 BEST XI

GK –Jimmy Nielsen, SKC – Nielsen has two home games this week vs. two tough opponents. Sporting KC have looked great at home this year and I would like his chances to pick up at least one shutout.

D – Matt Besler, SKC – With a salary of only 80 in MFLS, he is a very good pickup with the amount of home games that Kansas City has for the remainder of the season.

D – Nat Borchers, RSL – Real Salt Lake missed Jamison Olave in their back line last week, but Jason Kreis should get his team organized and back on track this week with two games.

D – Sean Franklin, LA – He added his second-career MLS goal last week, making that his second goal in two games. He has two chances to add to that tally this week.

M – Landon Donovan, LA – Donovan had a dymanic performance vs. Vancouver and will have two chances to put up big numbers yet again.

M – Dwayne DeRosario, DCU – DeRosario has a chance to get revenge this week with a home game vs. the team with whom he started the season. Toronto has been leaking goals this year and the D.C. United midfielder should be able to crack its defense.

M – Marco Pappa, CHI – One of the more creative midfielders in MLS, he has two chances this week to create opportunities for the new-look Fire.

M – Sebastien Le Toux, PHI – With Ruiz out in Philadelphia, Le Toux will be asked to carry a large portion of the attack. It will be important to watch if he and Mwanga can rejuvenate the chemistry they had last year with two games this week.

F – Danny Mwanga, PHI – Should get extra playing time with Ruiz out of the picture. He is a very talented young player and should take advantage of the situation.

F – Chris Wondolowski, SJ – Wondolowski has been moved to a wide midfield role recently, but when he gets in front of goal, he is likely to score. He should get his chances this week with a home game vs. Portland.

F – Kei Kamara, KC – Sporting Kansas City has many forward options, but Kamara always seems to be a big part of its attack. Has two chances to get on the scoresheet this week.

  1. Wherrrrrrrrrrrrrrre arrrrrrrrrrrrrre any new signings Nowaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak?????? Seriously, the Union have the thinnest squad in the league and it keeps getting thinner without any quality being brought in. The needs are glaring: a froward with finishing ability and an attacking midfielder with vision and distribution ability (sounds kind of like Torres!) who can play 90 minutes consistently.

  2. Who is better? George John pre-greece training stint or George John post-greece training stint.

This coolaid tastes great in this summer heat…

  3. YES,

Hartman will save a couple distant (but quality) shots from Juhino and Donovan… John + Ugo will take care of Becks crosses.

    Dallas will Win (or draw)

  4. You like Dallas’ odds of getting a shut against LA on the road? No doubt George John is one of the better defenders in the league though.

  5. NEVER seen George John on this list. He makes league minimum has 2goals 1assist already and his team has the most shutouts. Seems like a no brainer..maybe im missing something
