Le Toux penalties help Union tie FC Dallas

The Philadelphia Union battled back on two occasions from one-goal deficits to earn a valuable point in a 2-2 draw against a strong FC Dallas side at PPL Park on Saturday night.

FC Dallas looked like a good bet to escape PPL Park with a win after taking leads on two occasions, but each time the Union kept battling and earned penalties. Sebastien LeToux converted both penalties to help the Union earn a draw.

FC Dallas opened the scoring on a Maicon goal following a Carlos Valdes blunder, but a Ugo Ihemelu foul set up LeToux's first penalty. Brek Shea made it 2-1 Dallas just before halftime on a tap-in off a rebound, but LeToux answered yet again in the second half when he converted a penalty drawn by Gabriel Farfan for a foul by FC Dallas' Jackson.

FC Dallas centerback George John left the match after earning a second yellow card in the 80th minute. LeToux's equalizing penalty came four minutes later.

The night marked the debut of Freddy Adu, who started and played 62 minutes just a day after being introduced as the Union's newest player. He put in solid effort, but lack of training with Philadelphia and fitness limited Adu's impact in his debut.

What did you think of the match? Did you like what you saw from Adu? Think FC Dallas should have taken all three points?
