CONCACAF Champions League: Your Running Commentary

CCLLogo

It's a make-or-break night in the CONCACAF Champions League for Toronto FC. If TFC can't come up with a home victory over Panamanian side Tauro FC at BMO Field, then the Reds face an extremely difficult uphill battle in their remaining two Group C games. A win, however, would put Toronto in a decent spot moving forward.

Seattle, meanwhile, can improve to 4-0 in CCL play and potentially clinch a spot in the knockout stage by taking care of business against Herediano for the second time in as many weeks. After claiming a victory in Costa Rica last week, the Sounders welcome their opponents to the boisterous CenturyLink Field. Here is the viewing schedule for the night's CCL matches:

8 p.m. – Fox Soccer Channel/CONCACAF.com stream – Toronto FC vs. Tauro FC

8 p.m. – Telefutura/CONCACAF.com stream – Monterrey vs. Comunicaciones

10 p.m. – Fox Soccer Channel/Telefutura/CONCACAF.com stream – Seattle Sounders vs. Herediano

If you will be watching any of Tuesday's CONCACAF Champions League matches, please feel free to share any thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below. Enjoy the action.

  1. The good thing is “all the games catching up to Seattle” should be over with that game alone. Everybody got a rest. We still sit on top of the group. Rolling in league play. This is a very small hiccup. Forget about it and move on … and drop Noonan and Jaqua ASAP.

  2. Squandered opportunity by the Sounders to wrap up a place in the knockout round against a Herediano team on the brink. Instead of coming out with a killer instinct they were listless.

A win would have allowed them to focus on MLS. Now they have to play difficult games against Communicaciones in Guatemala, and then Monterrey at home. The Sounders could still very well be eliminted without points in one or more of those games.

  3. All the games are starting to catch up to Seattle as CCL usually starts to wear teams down resulting in a drop in league play. Still the Sounders are doing well but clearly coach wanted to give a night off to his most important attacking players and only inserted Montero and Alonso when the rest of the team showed little initiative.

Everyone expected way more from Jaqua in the air against Herediano. of course Noonan’s crosses were for a someone taller than Jaqua, perhaps someone the size of Goliath.

  4. That was a pretty surprising result for the Sounders. Expected them to at least grab a point. Good on TFC for snatching the win. Tomorrow my LAGs will bring MLS another 3 points. Everywhere that we go the people wanna know whos in blue white and gold…Galaxy!

  5. Except that disgraceful showing at the end. Just get on your feet a see the game out. Absolutely no place for that in soccer or any sport for that mater.

  6. Toothless in Seattle with Noonan, Neagle and Jacqua up top, even after Montero and Alonso came on to take over the game and the midfield

Man of the Match is the keeper Cambronero for sure. He played great

  7. When a player is poor that’s on him. When an entire side is poor that’s on the coach. Sounders played for most of the game as if they were the away side.

  8. Seattle doesn’t look too motivated today. Actually a little strange since this is a B team for them and you would think most of these guys would play with a little more energy.

  9. if Seattle can sneak in a goal off the counter before half it would be a big bonus. Coach Sigi may need to insert a couple of his playmakers in the second half; they look very un-Sounder like right now
