MLS Match Night Commentary & Live Playoff Standings

With MOST of the final weekend of the 2011 MLS regular season being played today, we will have a very clear picture of what the playoff match-ups will be for the playoffs once tonight's matches are finished. With that in mind, we will be listing the match-ups and tonight's results so you can have an updated look at what the playoffs look like.

Teams who have a specific playoff position locked up will appear in bold (as LA and Seattle are heading into the night). Please note that right now the Red Bulls are ahead of Houston in the playoff order, but the Dynamo play Sunday.

Here are the live MLS playoff standings (as of 11:30pm ET):

  1. If I was a RSL fan I’d be really pissed right now. Getting a lucky goal, then playing keep away for 40 minutes. Never even going for a second.

    Worst ref in the league. Missed at least 10 calls. Not even talking the judgment ones which I’d argue he blew about 10 as well. He just missed things. A ball kicked of a guys chest that goes 60 degrees the other way and he doesn’t see it? That guy has to go.

  2. Ives, any idea why your employer abandoned “Soccer Night in America” on the final night of the season? The one night I really would be interested to see a game with playoff implications?
