SBI MLS Player of the Month: Sebastien Le Toux

After following up his breakout 2010 campaign with a surprisingly slow start from a goals standpoint, Sebastien Le Toux is finding his attacking form at the perfect time for the Philadelphia Union.

Le Toux scored seven goals in six matches in September, including two-goal efforts against New England and D.C. United, to take home SBI MLS Player of the Month honors. Le Toux is up to 10 goals on the season after having just one through mid-August, and his outburst has helped the Union to 10 points in their last six games.

Le Toux edged out other candidates like D.C. United's Dwayne De Rosario, who had five goals and three assists including a hat trick against Real Salt Lake; and Chivas USA's Juan Pablo Angel, who had two multi-goal games and scored five goals with Chivas still in the playoff hunt.

What did you think about Le Toux's month? Who was your top player for September?

Until Carlos Ruiz left, Le Toux was playing in a different position and/or a different role than he was in 2010. Now he’s back to playing in the same place as last season and he’s settled into last year’s scoring habits. Let’s hope it lasts.

  • Not Le Toux

He has stated many times that he’s willing to play for the US. Don’t think he’s a citizen though.

Still mad the Sounder’s protected Jaqua over Le Toux in the expansion draft. Hanauer has been a solid GM and Le Toux had a rough first year but he was and still is one of my favorite Sounders.

Yeah..agree with gilby. I don’t understand why LeToux was not protected. This years expansion, better not see Jacqua protected again!

He has a green card..I believe he got in 2010…he cant be far from becoming a citizen.
