Inter Milan is in rebuilding mode under a new manager after a brutal start to the season, and today will offer new manager Claudio Ranieri and his side a tough test to see just how far along the blue side of Milan has come.

Napoli will provide the challenge, as Edinson Cavani and the crew from Naples look to boost their own Serie A title hopes.

In England, both Mancheater clubs are in action in games they are expected to win handily after posting disappoinging Champions League results.

In MLS, the Los Angeles Galaxy will look to secure their second straight Supporters Shield against an RSL side that has lost two straight blowouts. Meanwhile, Colorado and FC Dallas look to halt their current slumps in a rematch of the 2010 MLS Cup Final.

  1. What an insane topic of conversation on sbi… I agree with all of the above. I first saw a picture of Christina Hendricks about a week ago, as I do not watch Mad Men, and I about fell over. Most attractive woman in Hollywood IMO.
Furthermore yes there is a definite bias in Hollywood on skinny and overweight. A bit ridiculous.

  2. Danny Williams played superb today vs Bayern. It was a real shame they took him off – he was sparking them I thought. Can’t wait to see this guy next week. Plays with passion.

  3. You are completely right, obesity is much more prevalent then anorexia, with what, a third of children overweight?. I was just trying to comment on the weight perception, because if a beautiful HEALTHY woman like Hendricks is considered “fat” and “plus sized”… what kind of chance do teenage girls have, even if they are at a healthy weight they might be judged fat.

  4. Christina Hendricks is undoubtedly hot and not at all overweight. I just have to say, though, I wish schools spent some of the time they spend on anorexia/bulimia education on more obesity education. The rate of the former is something like 1 in 200 while the rate of the former is what, 1 in 2. Obviously both issues can be tackles simultaneously but I swear I hear more people complain about skinny standards for girls than the much larger problem of healthy eating and exercise.

  5. I agree with wishing Buddle was more focused and/or serious early. When he came up he had a swagger that no other US strike had. It was almost a playground basketball mentality. (I know where he got it – he grew up where I did, and street basketball was king.) He had pace and determination. Really, he was a better version of Eddie Johnson.

But I don’t think he had the skill or soccer sense of either Altidore or Agudelo, both of whom have been much better at the same age. I don’t think its really close from a technical stand point. But that does not take away from the fact that Buddle had a chance of being special.

  6. Enjoyed watching Rossi in the Villarreal/Zaragoza game this afternoon. Tremendous skill and talent. It’s a tragedy he is not playing for the USMNT, but nothing to be done about it now.

Real and Barcelona will make him look like a chump, no doubt.

  7. “Altidore and Agudelo, are athletic players that are good finishers. Many of Altidore’s and Agudelo’s goals are from ball watching. However, both turn over the ball too much. ”

Could you explain what you nean by “ball watching “?

  8. I would post pictures if links were allowed. there is a healthy difference between Christina Hedricks and girls that starve themselves.

  9. Maka, if you think she is “fat”, i dont know what to tell ya….makes me understand why teenage girls try to starve themselves. Yikes, she is a sex bomb for sure

  10. I have a feeling Dempsey is leaving Fulham next summer for a CL team. Maybe Arsenal. Maybe a Spanish or Italian club. But a CL team indeed. Due to Fulham being in the EL this season, he has extra opportunity to showcase himself and add interest in his name. Mark it guys. Come next summer, Clint is gone. He’s done everything he could at Fulham. Top scorer in the PL, led them to the final of the Europa League, 2 no8 finishes in the PL. He’s a LEGEND

  12. Why are Bunbury and Agudelo being fast tracked to the NT? Why not keep them on the u-23’s for another year or 2? They’re just not ready yet for the nT.

We are depleted at strikers for the NT, i know but Jozy, Gomez and Buddle can get us through qualifying. Justin Braun is certaintly an option as well. Perhaps a return for Charlie Davies. All I’m saying is, not to overwhelm our really young and rookie strikers atm.

  13. Buddle’s season started 2months ago and he was injured most of the time. In 11 games he’s scored 5 goals. Highest on his team. RESPECT

  14. Comparable to McBride. Unskilled to a degree at a younger age but got older and more sensitized to the game. Remember McBride joined Fulham at age 31 and averaged like 9 goals a season for them. Not bad considering he was on a lowly team for 4 years alternating as a sub/starter.

Buddle could have joined a lowly Bundesliga side but who knows, maybe he leads Inglostadt to the Bundesliga or gets picked up in a year by a Bundesliga club

  15. Exactly. They air things like Bayou fishing or some crap like that. Surely 2 PL matches would get higher ratings and fan interest than that.

  16. Bunbury has more goals than Agudelo this season. Bunbury is at 7, think Agudelo is at 5 or 6. Bunbury also has a better goal to minutes played ratio. Its actually one of the highest in MLS.

  17. Altidore and Agudelo, are athletic players that are good finishers. Many of Altidore’s and Agudelo’s goals are from ball watching. However, both turn over the ball too much. I’m not saying Buddle is a better player then either, just more skilled. Buddle has scored some amazing goals dribbling around players. If he had his head on straight at a younger age he could have been much better.

  18. Buddle should have been called up over the likes of Bunbury. Bunbury isn’t exactly scoring in bundles for KC. Agudelo I feel deserves a call-up. He’s ingrained with the NT

  19. I’m not sure what to think based on my Twitter feed. According to the Yanks Abroad guy, Chandler was involved in both Nurnberg goals. According to “Bundesliga_wrap” minutes later, the Nurnberg coach must address the fullback situation asap because “Chandler’s out of form”.

  20. Its unfortunate Buddle didn’t take his career seriously for a large part of his professional life. He’s probably the most skilled/talented striker USA has ever produced.

  21. Interesting to see that Fox is starting to replay games on Sunday afternoon. I guess with NBC getting the rights to MLS they are more concerned about stamping their mark on the sport in the US and building up the ratings to stop them from coming in for EPL games in the future.

As of right now I believe ESPN is paying Fox for the rights to play the EPL game or two they play each week. ESPN plays Seria A games on ESPN3 though, would be interesting if they started putting those games on TV.

  22. Newcastle temporarily up to 3rd… I can’t believe it. Not deluded to think they’ll stay up there all season but it feels good to keep this run going. To be fair there should have been two penalties against them today and that last goal was questionably disallowed.

  23. definitely, so far Norwich a fun team to watch this season. They failed to find frame twice when solo vs. the keeper in this one, and but one of those converted and all very different here. Isn’t that always the case? Do or do not when the chance arrives, the difference between top of the table and all the rest, forever

  24. Norwich just lost 2-0 but they had plenty of chances. good on them for playing a bit of attacking football at united. i only saw about the last 40 minutes i should mention though.

  25. ESPN2 needs to seriously start playing 2 PL games every Saturday. ESPN should as well. Nothing else on during the morning of a Saturday. They’d get good ratings I’m sure, especially if they promoted it.

  26. Buddle scored a brace today in his team’s 5-3 loss. Not bad. He may be 30 and playing in 2nd Bundesliga for a crappy team but he could play a nice role for us in WC qualifying. At least until Bunbury/Agudelo actually start scoring goals.

  27. I have been nothing but impressed by Norwich every time I have seen them this year, really hope they stay up going into next year.
