Soccer Tuesday: Your Running Commentary

The Carling Cup quarterfinals aren't typically must-see TV, but when the draw for this year's edition was conducted, it resulted in some mouth-watering matchups between England's top teams.

Chelsea and Liverpool will do battle for one spot in the semifinals, while Arsenal and Manchester City clash for another. Even though plenty of reserves are expected to see time in both contests, they both still promise to provide a nice slice of mid-week entertainment.

A couple of other league matchups around Europe are appealing as well, as Barcelona will look to come back from its first defeat of its league campaign at home against Rayo Vallecano, and Napoli and Juventus square off in a meeting of two of Italy's top sides.

Here's the TV schedule for Tuesday's matches:

2:45 p.m. – FoxSoccer.tv – Chelsea vs. Liverpool

2:45 p.m. – Fox Soccer Channel – Napoli vs. Juventus

3 p.m. – Fox Soccer Plus/FoxSoccer.tv – Arsenal vs. Manchester City

3 p.m. – ESPN3.com – Barcelona vs. Rayo Vallecano

If you will be watching any of Tuesday's games, please feel free to share any thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below. Enjoy the action.

  1. It’s like a sound studio mixer board with sliders for defense, attacking, beast mode, etc.

Guardiola keeps it on the sideline to build the drama.

  2. Then they don’t even have the two shows I used to watch a few years ago anymore: Dream Team reruns and Fox Football Fone-in (pre-Wynalda).

  3. No kidding. Bad enough I have to buy some stupid package full of channels I don’t want/won’t ever watch to get Fox Soccer, but I then am expected to pay twice as much for the plus so I can watch a handful of good games plus rugby?

  4. Xavi is incredible but I doubt even he is capable of intentionally doing that. That being said, if it was what he intended to do then all I have to say is wtf lol

  5. Fox Soccer is turning into a trash company. Adding two additional pay services on top of their channel and then transitioning the watched games to those services is crap.

  6. So I pay good money for Fox Soccer and I still can’t watch Arsenal vs Man City OR Chelsea vs Liverpool? I’m sick of them putting the more desirable games on Plus or .tv.
