A day after topping one second-division side from the Netherlands, the MLS Generation adidas team dropped a result to another one, falling to Almere City FC, 2-0.

The loss wrapped up the side's 10-day tour of the country, in which it also lost to a team of Ajax Reserves and defeated FC Volendam.

Sporting Kansas City manager Peter Vermes trotted out a starting lineup of Zac MacMath in goal; Kofie Sarkodie, Zarek Valentin, Conor Shanosky and Michael Tetteh in defense; and an attacking corps of Amobi Okugo, Danny Mwanga, Luis Gil, Omar Salgado, Jack McInerney and Will Bruin.

Almere scored both of its goals in the first half, and despite numerous chances in the attacking third, the GA side could not break through.

Highlights from the match are after the jump:

  1. You need to remember that they played a game yesterday as well, so 2 games in 24 hours. Also from what i read they dominated the entire second half and never looked like the weaker team. Just need some finishing drills.

  2. As are the GA dudes… but they don’t play on a real team, so I think good individual play is the most to realistically hope for from the GA touring squad.

  3. The results may say something. But honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t. These guys are almost already knocking on the door of being quality professionals.
