The winter transfer window across Europe closed on Tuesday, and a number of teams — not the usual big-spenders — that were scrambling to fill vacancies and address needs for the second half of their respective seasons were able to add some valuable pieces to the puzzle.
Queens Park Rangers fall into that category, adding firepower in the form of former Lazio striker Djibril Cisse and Fulham forward Bobby Zamora.
Tottenham made a late charge ahead of the transfer deadline, adding Louis Saha on loan from Everton for the rest of the season and acquiring former D.C. United centerback Ryan Nelsen on a free transfer from Blackburn.
The Toffees added a familiar face in Steven Pienaar, reacquiring the South African on loan from Tottenham for the remainder of the campaign. Everton also went out and signed Nikica Jelavic from Rangers and introduced the striker to the crowd at Goodison Park during the club's victory over Manchester City.
The only American international to make a move ahead of the deadline was U-23 midfielder Mikkel Diskerud, who moved from Stabaek to Belgian club Gent on loan for the rest of the season.
The biggest name being batted around during deadline day, Carlos Tevez, failed to secure a move and is still with Manchester City.
Here is a list of moves that have been completed and announced as of Tuesday's deadline:

this is the greatest post I have ever seen on SBI!
Zamora is terrible? What are you smoking…This guy can score.
It would have been great for an American team to bring him stateside.
I wonder which MLS team he is coming to….Philly has a big hole.
Totally baffling. Seems like they’re still in the mindset of trying to consolidate a Europa position.
HA!
what is this I don’t even
Spurs got the short end on both defender and striker. This is not a move to challenge for the the EPL title. What are they doing, paying Harry’s back taxes instead.
hahaha…greatest post ever!…..well done sir
Man I went looking for that and all I could find was http://www.rorysucksabagofdicks.com
Yeah i’d forgotten how players lose all their talent and skills in 6 months. My bad.
looks like Bobby took the Fulham “Go, Bobby Zamora!” chant literally.
i think he was lying
That was LAST year
Did you watch him play in Germany last year?
QPR picked up Cisse for 2.5 years. 1 goal in 18 games. Lazio just took somebody with Fifa 2000 for a ride.
Not unless he was English? You can divide that figure by half. He only has 18 months left on his contract.
Please we dont need more has beens
makes sense for newcastle b/c obertan hasn’t locked down the RM position but does not make sense for Dempsey b/c he wouldn’t get champions league football there
MLS better sign Raul…
if he ends up in Qatar i’m going to lose it.
I wonder what happened to that kid with the Adam Smith haircut who was crying when Leeds got sent down. I’m sure the media in Leeds will reunite them.
God bless you!

Also on that webpage is proof that Texas is cool.
some guy on twitter said he saw deuce on the train to newcastle, he asked him what he was doing and dempsey wouldnt tell him haha. It was on BBC’s live updates.

Where did you see this figure? That seems high. I just checked a transfer Web site that puts him at 10m pounds.
Fulham picks up a striker making way for Zamora to QPR. Dempsey? We will see.
WHAT?
You’re a Gonner? You’re going to die? I’ve heard Gooners and Gunners, but never Gonners. Perhaps that is a Freudian slip re: your hopes for Arsenal’s Champions League hopes.
No Dempsey news? I suppose he is staying in West London for now.
ne truth 2 da rumor of ronaldo 2 barca, rooney 2 madrid and iniesta 2 united n a 3 playr trade? dis kyd keeps sayin its on but i aint belee him
Oh, very good, very good!
While as a Gonner, I’d love to see him at Arsenal, I think Dempsey’s style would make him an ideal fit for Seire A.
I’ll duck now while people throw things
clever
Does he use the invisible foot?
That Adam Smith move was very economical.
pretty sure he’s out come summer. Hopefully to France
Dempsey at the moment is rated at costing 15-20 million pounds. Highest costing Yank ever,
Dempsey to Arsenal or Liverpool? either today or this summer
the American soccer nerd’s wet dream.
Cisse is a done deal and Zamora is terrible, QPR already have a number of forwards who dont score, they hardly need another. Not sure what you’re referring to with “we’ll see if they can properly handle all the new acquisitions” and how that relates to Tarrabt and Barton? There are some big personalities of course, but probably no more so than any other Prem club.
how about dempsey to Everton, with donovan agreeing to stay on?
let’s don’t give up hope yet. Still 8 hours to go. who knows, maybe we will get a pleasant last-minute Edu surprise.
Clint Dempsey from Fulham to Arsenal
Too bad Mo Edu isn’t on that list. Hopefully he leaves Rangers this summer. Or is his contract not up until next year?
Coutinho went to Espanyol on loan
I don’t think Cisse to QPR is a done deal yet. It looks like QPR is making a final day move for Zamora if they can work out personal terms. I think Cisse would be a better fit. QPR are the biggest EPL movers this window we’ll see if they can properly handle all of their new acquisitions. With Taarabt and Barton in the mix I have my doubts.
I think Yannick Djalo is going from Sporting to Benfica.
Raul!
