  1. okay. point taken. I will issue a mea culpa on that. I was excited to see Everton score the go-ahead goal against league-leading Man City with good ol’ Landycakes involved and, yeah, i got a bit carried away. technically not brilliant. that said, there ain’t no easy play in soccer and we have seen that play screwed up countless times and not everyone would have pulled it off as Donovan did. I’m still proud of the guy for being involved in the go-ahead goal against Man City for a very impressive win.

  2. Just saw the replay of the Everton game. It’s good they’re getting Pienaar back, so someone else on the team knows how to pass the ball when Donovan goes back to L.A. Can Phil Neville even hit the ball on the ground? He’s balloon-ball specialist. And whno one ever gives Donovan a return pass on a give-and-go, as if it’s a unknown concept at Goodison. Why is Moyes considered such a coaching genius?

  3. Or “should’ve,” which is what he’s trying to say. I think txt has ruined people’s use of the apostrophe; we’ve forgotten all about it.

  4. from french tv announcers referring to donovan’s bad trap then assist –
“donovan, who has missed everything the entire match – even this one he misses – has the intelligence to lay the ball back to an onrushing gibson.”

  5. It was a fast moving bouncing rebound above knee level when Donovan struck it. It was hardly a sitter. Regardless, the play was dead.

  6. okay last everton game I kinda ranted about the lack of quality at Everton besides a select few but today I ate some crow. the striker Straquilarisi or whatever was not the silkiest ever but he was relentless and Cahill was looking like it was 2009 Cahill. everyone played tireless and was really inspiring to watch them scramble for everything. As for Donovan, he really impressed me and was all over that wing today. had some sweet touches and his passes were much much much better today. god how I wish he played regularly for an EPL team, and this from a Galaxy fan. then again if rumors are true of Buddle signing soon the Galaxy will arguably have an even better team than last year -albeit the loss of Gonzalez. USA FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!

  7. they have to at least make a very good offer. if LA won’t sell him at any price thats one thing but Everton should empty out their piggy bank for him.. they are a significantly better team with him.

  8. He didn’t say he made the wrong decision. He said Donovan almost blew the play by FAILING to control it. Lousy first touch. Fortunately, there was no City player close to him, so LD was able to control the ball when it came back down.
