Lionel Messi made more history on Tuesday, breaking Barcelona's team record for career goals, with his hat-trick against Granada helping him surpass Cesar Rodriguez on Barca's all-time list.
Messi's club goal total is now up to 234, an astronomical number for a player who is just 24 years old. If you ever wish you could see all of Messi's Barcelona goals, here is your chance:

A few thoughts went through my head as I was watching this…
:: he had 58 goals in the first four years (through 2008)
:: it took him until 2010 to get to 100
:: near the end of 2011 he reached 200
:: by the next World Cup he will have reached Larry Bird for career points, blowing way past Kareem Abdul-jabbar by the end of his career
:: on goals 186 & 187 he feels the need to score with his body as well (see that he puts defenders in the goal on numerous occasions)
:: note to keepers of the world: don’t cough it up anywhere near Messi!!!

Three or four of those goals were pretty decent…
Messi is known as “the Argentinian Adam Christman”…
WTF dude why are you not the best ever at your profession already??
This does not get old for one bit.
Surely you’ve seen the youtube compilation of Christman’s goals! ….what, no?
His finishing is…there are no words for it. No matter how many times I watch it, I can’t believe it. Just happy he is playing during our time.
By then he will have built a time machine to go back in time and prove he is better than Pele and Maradona and then he will have built a space ship that can travel at the speed of light so he can compete with alien races and prove he’s the best in the universe.
Argentina to win on Brazilian soil? that would be something… or maybe russia? he will be 31 in russia 2018.
don’t see that happening. Messi will be a career barca player or he will retire in the Argentinian league.
also mls would not be a good fit for him. (maybe in 10-15 years it might be) but right now he would hate playing here. absolutely different games.
what about my boy Steven Gerrard?
+1
who is Adam Cristman?
if he can help Argentina win a WORLD CUP or at least make a WC cup final, he could become the greatest player of all time
His control and patience in the box are AMAZING! He scores 95% of his goals from inside the box.
it’s like is foot is a pitching wedge
i couldn’t get through them all. just too much stimulation and insane frenetic movement. what a relentless, feline-like, machine that kid is. the energizer bunny on crack
+1
that was great to watch for breakfast with my son, who is Lionel’s biggest fan and has two indoor games tonight. He wants to score a goal with a chip of course 🙂
I can buy that. Zidane controlled the midfield (and thereby, the game) like none other.
Hard to argue with a guy who’s pretty much good for two goals in every game though…
DC United’s billionaire owner-in-waiting will snag him for the black, white and red.
If/when he has a farewell portion of his career, I’d imagine it’d be in Argentina over MLS.
…and what are the chances that Messi is playing in MLS 10 years from now?
A spectacular talent. Without question the greatest goal scorer of his generation and one of the greatest players ever.
But…(for the sake of discussion)if I were to build a team around one player from the past 30 years, I would choose Zinadine Zidane. I would rank the top 5 players over the past 30 years in this order
Zidane
Messi
Maradona
Ronaldinho
Ronaldo
Again, just for the sake of discussion.
La Liga has: Leo Messi
MLS has: Adam Cristman
=
Advantage: MLS
It’s really just unbelievable. There’s no other way to say it. I think he’s already at 51 goals for the season. 51! Just unreal.
The record-breaker is becoming his signature. The chip over the goalie. He’s been doing this, it seems, in every game, lately. He does it with such ease and skill — stopping almost on a dime, or even doing it at full speed. What makes his chips so amazing is the height he’s getting, and how quickly hte balls rise. Most players try to chip a goalie who is going down to block a low shot. The last couple of weeks, we’ve been seeing Messi chip goalies who are standing up and stretching to defend the shot. The ball goes up and back down with cruel efficiency. Dude just doesn’t miss.
lmfao..i feel ya bro
Ives, how about a Q&A today after 1PM?
I’m 25…where did my life go wrong?
I’m going to go out on a limb and assume he has the record for hat tricks too?
With Messi anything less than a hat trick seems almost a sub par performance.
