Led by a trio of outstanding performances by forwards, the SBI MLS Best XI for Week 2 is stacked with plenty of attacking talent.

Player of the Week David Estrada leads the way, and is joined on the squad by teammate and partner in goal-creating crime Alvaro Fernandez. River-dancing striker Kei Kamara garnered recognition as well, and so did LA Galaxy Designated Players Robbie Keane and David Beckham.

We even saw a player make the Best XI in his first MLS match as Hanyer Mosquera put in a commanding performance in helping the Portland Timbers score a valuable road point against FC Dallas.

Here is SBI's MLS Best XI for Week Two:

  1. Funny to compare: looks like only 4 of these 11 made the MLS Team of the Week, and some that made that one didn’t even make the HM category here.

They also add a coach (they named Pareja this time). How’s about adding that here?

  2. Fabian Espindola. That dude plays hard all game long. Did you see how he ran down Thiery Henry and blocked his shot. He’s a madman.

  3. I used to like Grabavoy’s game…now I think he’s become the ‘thug’ in midfield for RSL.

Give me Alonso any day in that position.

  4. Glad this only includes “MLS” performances, cuz Keane was partially responsible for the Galaxy’s loss against Toronto FC last week in CONCACAF Champions League. STILL mad at a couple of his blown chances!

  5. I like that this Best XI is about more than just scoring a goal. I didn’t get to see RSL this week, what was it about Grabavoy’s performance that stood out?

  6. Way to give Fernandez the nod. No one seems to really be giving him credit for the game, but he was amazing on the ball. If not for the hat trick, Fernandez would have gotten more attention.
