Juventus look like they are returning to the dominating side that seemed destined for the title earlier in the season, but is it too little, too late?

Juventus were impressive in the second half of their 3-0 victory over Napoli on Sunday. Leonardo Bonucci, Arturo Vidal and Fabio Quagliarella scored and Napoli finished the game with 10 men after Juan Zuniga was shown a red card. This is the fourth multi-goal game in a row for Juventus after their offense largely stagnated after the new year.

Napoli could have moved into third place with a win but a three-point gap with eight games to play is more than enough time to reign in Lazio. The two teams meet this Saturday in what will be one of the must-see games of the weekend.

The wheels seem to be coming off at Manchester City as the former league leaders had to come from behind to draw 3-3 with Sunderland. The visiting Black Cats had victory all but wrapped up before Mario Balotelli and Aleksander Kolarov scored to bring the score level. City are two points behind Manchester United and could be as many as eight back by the time they take the field on Sunday.

England

Another week, another devastating loss for Liverpool. Kenny Dalglish's men continued their terrible run of form with a 2-0 loss to Newcastle on April Fool's Day. Papiss Cisse scored twice but the game was more memorable for Andy Caroll falling over instead of slotting the ball into an empty net and Pepe Reina being sent off nine minutes from time after head-butting James Perch. Liverpool have lost six of their last seven and have fallen behind cross-town rivals Everton in the EPL table.

One over-priced striker who may finally be finding form is Fernando Torres. The Spaniard broke a league goal-scoring drought that had extended well over 1000 minutes with a goal in Chelsea's 4-2 win over Aston Villa. Arsenal came back down to earth as their seven-game winning streak was broken by Queens Park Rangers.

SPAIN

The gap stays at six points as both Real Madrid and Barcelona were comfortable in multi-goal victories over the weekend. Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi scored for Barcelona. Not to be outdone, Cristiano Ronaldo's screamer from over 30 yards out was the highlight of Real Madrid's 5-1 dismantling of Osasuna.

Valencia and Levante battled to a 1-1 draw but Malaga failed to take advantage, losing 2-0 at home to Real Betis. Levante are now only two points behind Malaga in the race for fourth place.

GERMANY

Three of the top four teams in Germany failed to pick up three points over the weekend. Borussia Dortmund's 4-4 draw with VfB Stuttgart could well be the most exciting game of the season with Mats Hummels and Ivan Perisic recapturing the lead for Dortmund before a last-gasp goal from Christian Gentner snatched a point for Stuttgart. Six of the eight goals came in the final 20 minutes. Bayern Munich move within three points of Dortmund after a 1-0 win over Nurnberg.

Borussia Monchengladbach lost to Hannover 96 and Schalke drew with TSG Hoffenheim. Hannover have moved within 10 points of fourth place but nothing short of a collapse by Borussia Monchengladbach would do anything to shake up the top four.

ITALY

Inter Milan's season may be long gone but there's still entertainment to be found at the San Siro. Inter survived a 5-4 thriller against Genoa in 36-year-old Andrea Stramaccioni's managerial debut. Diego Milito netted a hat trick while Genoa converted three penalties in the second half.

Lazio failed to take advantage of Napoli's loss and fell 3-1 to Parma on Saturday.

Paris Saint-Germain might still be on top of Ligue 1 but Saturday's 2-1 loss to AS Nancy Lorraine puts their title hopes in serious jeopardy. Yohann Mollo scored in the 89th minute as PSG are now winless in three games. Montpellier were not in action this weekend and can move three points clear if they can take advantage of the game in hand.

Ajax stormed into the Eredivisie lead with a 6-0 thrashing of SC Heracles Almelo. Ajax are on a seven-game winning streak and are in the lead after AZ Alkmaar drew 2-2 with Vitesse Arnhem.  AZ must now try to chase down Ajax while fending off a challenge from FC Twente for the final Champions League spot.
