You might remember a Canadian goalkeeper scoring a goal from his own half of the field during last summer's FIFA Under-17 World Cup.
That goalkeeper is now on an MLS roster.
Toronto FC signed Quillan Roberts to a Homegrown Player deal on Tuesday, adding an academy product in an area of need for the club. With Stefan Frei out for the next six months and no other goalkeeper signed behind starter Milos Kocic, the Reds promoted from within, making the 17-year-old, 6-foot Roberts the seventh player signed from TFC's academy.
