Count the Montreal Impact in for the summer friendly madness.

The Impact will host French Cup champion and UEFA Champions League knockout round participant Lyon at Stade Saputo on July 24, the first of two matches Lyon will play in North America in July.

The club that boasts French national team goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, midfielder Yoann Gourcuff and forward Jimmy Briand will play a few days later at Red Bull Arena when they take on Ligue 1 champion Montpellier for the Champions Trophy on July 28.

"We are pleased to further our relationship with France’s Ligue 1 and grow our relationship across the Atlantic. This game is a great example," Impact president Joey Saputo said in a club statement.

  1. It is in fact culturally attuned of a selection, and arguably more wise than just being the next stop on some Big Name FC’s tour where no real link may be established…..FWIW a heavily francophone city would probably be a better destination for a French team than one that just so happens to have Henry.
