The Colorado Rapids have made a concerted effort to bring in a new kind of personnel this season, revamping their attack with a South American flair under first-year coach Oscar Pareja. The club is also doing what it can to lock up the incumbent nucleus of the team for the long haul, though.

The Rapids re-signed defender Drew Moor to a multi-year deal on Tuesday, the terms of which were not disclosed. Moor joins Omar Cummings, Jeff Larentowicz and Brian Mullan as Rapids who have re-signed with the club for multiple seasons in the last six months.

In his fourth season with the Rapids, Moor is the Rapids' iron man in defense, setting in MLS record by playing all 90 minutes in 69 straight games before having the streak snapped with a suspension. He has proven to be a valuable, versatile asset across the back line and was integral in the club's run to the 2010 MLS Cup, which came at the expense of his former club, FC Dallas.

SAUNDERS RETURNS TO GALAXY

Goalkeeper Josh Saunders has officially returned to the Los Angeles Galaxy.

After entering the league's substance abuse and behavioral health program at the end of April for reasons that he called personal- and stress-related, Saunders is eligible for selection this Sunday against the Portland Timbers.

That is good news for a club that has been in need of some after stumbling out of the gates in its title defense. The Galaxy are 0-6-2 in all competitions without Saunders, who had given way to Bill Gaudette and Brian Perk in his absence. In terms of recovering his fitness, Saunders played in a reserve match against the Timbers 10 days ago, and his working his way back to resume his starting duties.

DI VAIO, ALEX TRAIN WITH IMPACT, FIRE

The summer transfer window is nearly open, which means the arrival of a number of new players in MLS. A couple of those players have trained with their new clubs for the first time to begin the acclimatization process ahead of the June 27 opening date.

Pending Montreal Impact Designated Player Marco Di Vaio trained with his soon-to-be teammates, and incoming Chicago Fire midfielder Alex Monteiro De Lima did the same, although it was not the first time he played with many of the Fire players. He participate with the Fire on trial for part of their preseason training camp in January.
