David Beckham's recent misbehaviour did not go unnoticed, and MLS has dropped the hammer on him.

Beckham was fined an undisclosed amount and suspended one game by the MLS Disciplinary Committee for his actions during and after the Los Angeles Galaxy's 4-3 loss to the San Jose Earthquakes on June 30, the league announced on Thursday. Beckham just served a one-game suspension for yellow card accumulation after getting cautioned in the thrilling match versus the Earthquakes, but he will now miss the Galaxy's visit to Toyota Park to take on the Chicago Fire on Sunday.

Beckham was not the only one punished this week by the league. Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena and Impact head coach Jesse Marsch were both given undisclosed fines for publicly criticizing officials.

What do you think of Beckham's punishment? Is it about right or should it have been more severe? Did Arena and Marsch deserve to be fined?

  1. You’re all haters. I can’t believe some of you are saying “I wish he’d get injured.” Beckham plays with passion. He goes too far. He gets away with stuff he probably shouldn’t. But most good teams have that guy. You love him if he’s on your team, hate him if he isn’t. Steven Lenhart, anyone? Fabian Espindola?

    Beckham got punished. Move on.

  2. Oh yes there’s no double standard in Europe. None whatsoever. Just ask the Ireland World Cup squad. Oh wait – Ireland didn’t go to the World Cuo? France went instead on a Thierry Henri handball goal? UEFA would never allow that, would they? Wake up.

I’m not even a LA supporter and Cronin springing to life like he was touched by Jesus Christ after he realized the ball hit him was comical. Cheating piece of excrement.

  4. I was frustrated to see the San Jose player laying on the ground time wasting but he sprung back to life as soon as Beckham struck him with the ball. Players who simulate and time waste in that matter are a cancer to the league. Im not a galaxy supporter either.

  5. He is in fact David “Golden Balls” Beckham and suspending him for 3 games is bad for business. Shea on the other had doesnt put butts in the seat so it’s OK for 3 games

    I wish he’d just retire

  6. The Galaxy will dump Keane to get Lampard. Loved Keano in his day, and he pushed LA over the top last year for sure, but so far this year dude can’t hit the broadside of a barn with his scatter-shooting.
