A quintet of intra-conference match-ups make up today's Major League Soccer action, led by the Seattle Sounders taking on the Colorado Rapids.

The Sounders are winless in eight MLS matches, but return to CenturyLink Field feeling good after a hard-earned point in a scoreless mid-week draw against Real Salt Lake. A victory won't come easy against a Rapids side that is fully healthy and showing signs of being ready to make a run up the West standings.

The Eastern Conference's lone match of the evening takes place at Livestrong Sporting Park, where Sporting Kansas City face the Houston Dynamo in a rematch of of the 2011 Eastern Conference Final. Sporting KC is coming in off a mid-week victory against Montreal and will be looking to close ground on D.C. United and New York atop the Eastern Conference standings. The Dynamo registered a mid-week draw against the Chicago Fire, and will be welcoming back Geoff Cameron, who missed that match with a hamstring injury.

  1. Oof. Before you jump to any conclusions about the quality of play this year, try to catch some other teams — San Jose vs. RSL next Saturday night would be a good one.

  2. Still fast and strong, still makes pretty good vertical runs, still dribbles out of bounds a bit more often than one would expect from a professional footballer.

  3. What do you guys make of Donovan selling his house in Manhattan Beach and Lampard Lingering around the Home Depot Center?

  4. I am looking for a critique of Eddie Johnson. I know he has scored some goals. Does he look as if he can make a future claim for the MNT?
