There were several quality team peformances in MLS this past week, but not many teams could say they enjoyed as dominating a performance as the one put in by the Colorado Rapids.

The Rapids thoroughly dominated the Portland Timbers in every facet of the game on their way to a comprehensive 3-0 victory on Saturday. The win helped move Colorado back into fifth place in the Western Conference, and it earned them MLS Team of the Week honors.

Fielding its healthiest lineup of the season, the Rapids made easy work of the Timbers, dominating possession and finding the net with goals from Jamie Castrillon, Conor Casey and Jamie Smith.

The Rapids edged out the likes of D.C. United, the Chicago Fire and the Columbus Crew for the honors this week.

What did you think of Colorado's performance last week? See the Rapids making a run at the top three in the West? Which team impressed you the most in MLS play last week?

  1. could not have scripted a better result with goals from Castrillon and first goals for Casey and Smith. Also it was good to see Smith, Casico and Wynne back on the field playing very well again.

This team has some great talent and depth, but they have not had an easy season and a pitted in a unforgiving Western Conference. should be a great second half of the season with so many teams in contention.
