The wheeling and dealing north of the border continues.

The Montreal Impact dealt defender Tyson Wahl to the Colorado Rapids Friday, acquiring an international roster spot for the 2014 season. The Impact originally acquired Wahl from the Seattle Sounders for allocation money on the day of the expansion draft. He started 11 games for the Impact, but played in only two of the club's last 10 matches.

In his seventh MLS season, Wahl joins Brian Ching, Bobby Burling, Justin Braun, Gerson Mayen and Seth Sinovic as players acquired by the Impact on the day of the expansion draft who are no longer with the club. Braun and Mayen were acquired in exchange for expansion draft pick James Riley, but Braun was shipped to Real Salt Lake this week, and Mayen was cut on March 1.

Wahl provides depth for the Rapids at both left back and centerback, where the club has had some injury issues this season.

"We’re excited to be able to add such an experienced player without compromising our roster flexibility as we move into the second half of the season," Rapids technical director Paul Bravo said in a team release.

The move caps a week in Canada during which Toronto traded Julian de Guzman to FC Dallas, loaned out Joao Plata to LDU Quito and released Nick Soolsma; Montreal traded Braun to RSL and loaned Bryan Arguez to FC Edmonton; and Vancouver sold Davide Chiumiento to FC Zurich.
