Months don't get much more dominant than the one the Houston Dynamo just had.
With a 4-0-2 mark, five clean sheets and wins over Eastern Conference contenders D.C. United and Sporting Kansas City, the Dynamo claimed SBI MLS Team of the Month honors. Led by the facilitating of Brad Davis, emergence of Mac Kandji and Calen Carr up top, successful integration of Designated Player Oscar Boniek Garcia and the goalkeeping of Tally Hall, the Dynamo sent a message to the rest of the league that the 2011 MLS Cup finalists are quite serious in their bid to contend for the league title.
Perhaps making what the Dynamo were able to accomplish even more impressive is that they were able to do it amid transfer speculation and the eventual departure of star centerback/midfielder Geoff Cameron.
The Dynamo, who at 7-0-3 at BBVA Compass Stadium are one of two teams still unbeaten at home (New York being the other) led a group of standout teams that included the the Philadelphia Union (4-1-0 including a win at Los Angeles, all following Peter Nowak's firing), L.A. Galaxy (4-1-1, 14 goals in six games) and Seattle Sounders (2-0-2, road draws at Real Salt Lake, New York, clinched place in fourth straight U.S. Open Cup final) to win the monthly honors.

I just hope both teams don’t peak too soon. Would love to see a rematch Hou vs LA at BBVA
Both teams showed a lot of improvement this month but I think undefeated trumps 1 loss, even if Houston was climbing less a hill, because the Dynamo also did have a hill to climb in the first place.
I’m a little concerned that, particularly with CCL coming up, a lot of the auto-back-slapping about Calen Carr and defensive shutouts may be a little fanboyish just the same. Carr is nearing career highs in production, and I think the defense’s effectiveness in playoffs will come down to if Rico Clark and Creavalle are involved, and Ashe and “Pick a DM” aren’t. Things are definitely looking up — particularly if we slot in Clark for Cameron and don’t lose talent in the transfer — but there is work to do and fixture congestion to cope with. These things get won in the fall not the spring or summer….

And the Dynamo went from 6th to playing for 1st in the East, all while outscoring opponents 13-2 with 5 shut-outs. Have you noticed our new DP? I think he would be considered as “destroying the pitch and assisting like its going out of style.”
Both have had impressive streaks, but Dynamo were stronger.

How the hell is the GALAXY not the team of the month? They went from terrible to probably the hottest team in MLS today in this month. Their DPs have destroyed the pitch scoring and assisting likes its going out of style. They won’t from dead last to being able to leapfrog to 3rd this weekend.
