SBI’s TV Guide to Summer Friendlies

A long list of summer friendlies that are being televised in North America kicks off Wednesday night, when the Seattle Sounders take on UEFA Champions League winner Chelsea at CenturyLink Field as part of the World Football Challenge.

In addition to the WFC, Manchester United's summer tour that includes a trip to South Africa and matches against Barcelona and Didier Drogba's Shanghai Shenhua is also being televised for all to see.

Between teams like Real Madrid, AC Milan, Liverpool, Chelsea, Paris-St. Germain and Mexican champion Santos Laguna taking part in the WFC, the MLS All-Star Game featuring Chelsea and non-affiliated preseason tours from teams like Tottenham, Aston Villa, AS Roma, Stoke City, Swansea City, Montpellier and Lyon, soccer fans in the United States will have plenty of opportunities to see some of Europe's best teams and players either in person, on national TV or on local broadcasts.

As for the nationally televised matches, here is the schedule for this summer's friendlies on TV:

2 p.m. – Fox Soccer Channel – AmaZulu vs. Manchester United

JULY 21

9 a.m. – Fox Soccer Channel – Ajax Cape Town vs. Manchester United

4 p.m. - Fox Soccer Channel - Toronto FC vs. Liverpool (Rogers Centre)

7:30 p.m. – Chicago-Fire.com live stream – Chicago Fire vs. Aston Villa

JULY 22

3:30 p.m. – Fox Soccer Channel – AS Roma vs. Zaglebie Lubin (Wrigley Field)

7 p.m. - Fox Soccer Channel/Univision Deportes - Chelsea vs. Paris-St. Germain (Yankee Stadium)

JULY 25

8 a.m. – Fox Soccer Channel – Shanghai Shenhua vs. Manchester United

6:30 p.m. – ESPN2/ESPN3.com – Liverpool vs. Roma (Fenway Park)
