If the Women's Olympic Soccer Tournament is your thing, today is going to be a great day of action.
Along with the U.S. Women's National team taking on underdog Colombia, we will see the best group stage match of the Olympics that doesn't involve the USA when reigning World Cup champion Japan takes on Sweden.
If you are looking for some men's soccer to tide you over, Saturday features some enticing action involving European clubs, including Liverpool taking on Tottenham in a friendly in Baltimore and Chelsea playing AC Milan in Miami.
Yes, there is a full slate of MLS action as well, and we will provide a more in-depth look at that action later in the day.
If you will be watching today's action, please feel free to share your thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below.

I hope they catch that on replay and give Lady Andrade a long-term suspension. That garbage has no place in the game.
why isnt DC on FSC?
But are you truly worthy enough to be the other half???
Just sayin’….
NBC has been awful already. THe worst Olympics coverage I can remember in my lifetime.
They missed the Phelps-Lochte final because they were showing some Dateline style interview about gymnastics.
or just dying for attention!
Tried to watch Brazil vs Egypt replay from NBC. Very S#*++Y quality. Just raw video, no announcer or mixer to cover up the VuVu’s, low-resolution AND still choppy as hell. NBC should just have their web-guys track down the people running ESPN’s servers and pay them handle their web streaming.
Wasn’t that clever – pretty sure I’ve heard that metaphor copied a few dozen times.
I would purposefully impregnate some of Brazil’s womens team….then make the future born sons play for USA.
JFT would make a cute boytoy
None. Ew.
The US women do not have the hottest of women on their team, I’ve seen other teams with way better looking women. Nevertheless, winning is most important.
I was leaning towards JFT.
Was anyone else watching USWNT on nbcolympics.com? I kept on having issues with the player crapping out on me (I totally missed the 2 goals in the second half because it took me 10 minutes to get it back on). I say boo to thee NBC IT!!!!
You would probably choose Jermaine Jones.
Carlos! duh!
Craven cottage would have been great for this game.
I agree. My only guess would be it has something to do with it being team GB? Part of an agreement or something? *shrugs*
I would think that there would be enough soccer stadiums in London
Why did GB play in Manchester and not london????????????
Rapinoe, but alas, she’s not available.
If the olympics are in London, why is the womens game in scotland?
Who do you guys think is the hottest USMNT player?
I think you missed his point
Who do you guys think is the hottest Colombian player? There is a few hotties I’d take a swing at.
No, idiot.
Wambach would not be denied… what a nice through ball with a powerfully skilled finish. LLoyd is quite the midfield general, like her style.
Nominating Arlo White for witty Olympic commentary. “like a hot knife through butter.”
…on Lloyd’s goal. 3-0 US
Is Wambach good enough to play on the USMNT?
Marlo Stanfield and his crew. You’re right about that. Also those junior high kids
I much prefer the new stripey kits with white shorts, by the way, as opposed to the blue ones. If the men start doing the same thing, as well, it may make the next couple years a lot easier on the eyes as a spectator.
You obviously didn’t see season three of breaking bad.
Its a women ref. The women ref doesnt like USA because they are all hotter than her.
Right hook – the Colombian fullback blind sided her. Essentially cold cocked her from over her right shoulder as she was running up behind her.
Should have been a straight red card – no other interpretation possible.
It was an assault.
Replay shows it was a (sucker) punch
US Women been getting hosed by this ref all half. Nice to see international refs hate our women too.
Nasty elbow on Wambach. Ref didn’t catch it, but definitely ejection worthy as off ball and appeared deliberate
Rangers play at Ibrox and they have a game tomorrow.
Season 4… IMHO the best season of a tv drama series ever.
Small turnout at Hampden Park. I would have figured that rangers fans would be looking for some good football since their team will be playing 4th division this year.
I recall that he may be moving to a new club in Norway due to club financial issues.
The WIRE
Anyone know what’s going on with Mix Diskerud these days?
His loan at Gent has expired, but he hasn’t played for Stabaek yet and he’s to good to waste the upcoming season playing a bunch of futile matches for a guaranteed cellar-dweller.
You must be new here…
My cable provider, Brighthouse (Florida), has a channel dedicated solely to the Olympic soccer broadcasts. Assuming others will too.
Just a quick fyi to anyone that doesn’t want to channel surf…
I’ll be watching LFC in my old stomping grounds (I’ve heard that Baltimore is the Liverpool of the US, hm…)
Fulham’s fb page just listed lineup/subs for their preseason friendly. Deuce not taking part. I know there have been a couple others the last few weeks and I don’t think he was in those either?
Seems to me if there was anything to Fulham’s “he’s not for sale” and “hasn’t been any formal offers” statements he’d be training with the team, no?
