If there was still doubt about Toronto FC being a different team under new head coach Paul Mariner, they erased some of it on Wednesday.

Toronto FC went a fifth consecutive game without suffering defeat, tying FC Dallas 1-1 at a soldout FC Dallas Stadium on Wednesday night courtesy of a goal from Danny Koevermans in the first half.

The dangerous Toronto striker's equalizer negated an early goal from Zach Loyd, who headed home the opener in the fifth minute of the match. It also extended FC Dallas' current winless run to 12 games, which is tied for fifth-longest in MLS history.

Koevermans buried the equalizer just after the half-hour mark, flicking the ball past FC Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman to score his ninth of the season.

  1. I knew that Mariner could turn Toronto around… I don’t know why he wasn’t the head coach to start with. So many great years of MLS experience that was just going to waste previously.
