FC Dallas made it three-for-three for the week and continued their strong form for August, as they escaped from Rio Tinto Stadium with a 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake on Saturday night. David Ferreira notched a late stoppage time goal to steal the win for Dallas, stunning both Real Salt Lake and the raucous crowd.

Not coincidentally, Dallas has turned around their season since the return of 2010 MLS MVP Ferreira, who made his 10th appearance on the season. Since his return, Dallas has gone 5-2-3 in that span, including winning their last three matches.

Ferreira also set up the first goal on the night, for his team-leading sixth assist on the season. He knocked it to a surging Fabian Castillo, who laced it past a diving Nick Rimando, putting Dallas up 1-0 in the 61st minute. The goal was Castillo's third in three matches, all of which have opened the scoring for Dallas.

Real Salt Lake stormed back, maintaining aggression for the next twenty minutes. The aggression culminated in a goal from Álvaro Saborío off of a 76th minute corner kick, evening the match up 1-1. The goal was Saborio's thirteenth on the year, evening him up with Kenny Cooper for second most in the league this season.

It looked as if it was going to remain 1-1 on the scoreboard until the referee blew the final whistle, but Ferreira found himself wide open after a set up from Brek Shea, and Ferreira blasted it past Rimando to give Dallas the lead in the 94th minute. The Colombian calmly walked towards the corner, knowing he and his teammates stole the match in the dying seconds.

Having scored nine points in a week, FC Dallas has made up a lot of ground in the Western Conference standings, finding themselves just five points behind the LA Galaxy and Vancouver Whitecaps, with one more game played over both. They will travel to Los Angeles to take on those Galaxy next Sunday night.

Real Salt Lake will host Tauro on Tuesday in a CONCACAF Champions League match, then will travel to Philadelphia to take on the Union on Friday night.
