MLS Match Day: Your Running Commentary

MLS Logo

The Seattle Sounders and Vancouver Whitecaps renew acquaintances in the latest instlalment of their Cascadia Derby, but more than bragging rights will be on the line when they meet today.

The Sounders and Whitecaps are currently tied on points with the Los Angeles Galaxy in the Western Conference standings and three points today for either side would vault them into a strong position heading into the final months of the regular season. The Whitecaps endured a disappointing 2-0 loss to FC Dallas at mid-week and will be trying to shake off that disappointment when they visit CenturyLink Field.

One of the best match-ups of the day takes place in Montreal, where the surging Montreal Impact take on MLS-leading San Jose Earthquakes at Stade Saputo. Montreal has aspirations of catching the playoff pack in the East, but they will need three points against a tough San Jose side to keep those playoff dreams alive. San Jose isn't likely to suffer a letdown tonight. Not with several teams still trying to catch them in the West.

  1. Hernandez straight red and concedes PK which is converted 3-1 Impact; he earned it with a clear path take down in the box. 70th minute

  2. pretty good call to me in the sense that Lenhart tries to do this gamey BS literally every game like Rodman did. But Rodman was a top notch player, Lenhart also has some skills but not near Rodman’s level

  3. Neagle scores again, a ripper from just outside the area, 2-1 Montreal 61st minute. some fancy footwork by Bernier to make it happen atop the 18

  4. instant response from Montreal 1-1

Bernardez from behind gets the goal scorer Neagle a real good shot after his release for the goal

  5. yes you can! I have just not seen a red given, Gonzalez was pissed when he gave it, then, tell the player to get off the field, literally point the way for the guy…and then have the player remain on the pitch. Never seen it Tyler…I guess you have. Right on.
