SBI MLS Best XI (Week 24)

FC Dallas' Colombian connection has the club entering the playoff discussion after a horrid stretch of play seemingly had the club closer to the Western Conference cellar than the postseason, and it looks like David Ferreira and Fabian Castillo have no intentions of slowing down.

Ferreira and Castillo both played major roles in the club's road victories at Vancouver and Real Salt Lake and were easy selections for SBI's MLS Best XI for Week 24. They are joined by teammate and centerback George John, who is quietly regaining his top form after an injury-riddled couple of months.

Other Best XI selections for the week include Chicago Fire attacker Chris Rolfe, who continued his hot streak with his fourth goal in as many games, and New York Red Bulls goalkeeper Bill Gaudette, who came up huge repeatedly after conceding two early goals to Portland to keep his team alive while it completed a comeback for a 3-2 win to stay unbeaten at home.

Here is this week's SBI MLS Best XI:

  1. Is FCD really in the playoff discussion? 5 points back and every team above them has at least one game in hand. If LA/VAN keep the pace, FCD would need to go 5-1-1 in their last 7, which includes 5 games against teams above them in the table.

    Seems highly unlikely.
