SBI MLS Goal of the Week: Felipe

Seattle's Fredy Montero and Portland's Jack Jewsbury provided some stiff resistance, but this week's SBI MLS Goal of the Week belongs to Montreal Impact midfielder Felipe, whose sideways scissor-kick volley off a cross from Hassoun Camara put the finishing touches on Montreal's 2-0 victory over the Philadelphia Union Saturday night at Stade Saputo. 1. Agreed. That’s why I said his was nice, but not Montero nice. Felipe is a great addition to MLS. I just think he tends to complain a lot. Add that to his diving/going down at the slightest touch and people aren’t gonna like the guy too much. Plus, I’m a Dynamo fan so I enjoy stoking the MTL v HOU rivalry fire whenever I can.

P.S. Jesse Marsch is a doosh.

  2. They were both great. After that it’s a matter of preference. I agree though, Montero’s was almost Hassli-esque. But this is a damn nice goal. I don’t know why people are bashing Felipe, say whatever you want about him, he’s one of the best new additions to the league (along with Garcia, Sene, etc.)…

  3. Aye, I can respect that. It wouldn’t have been so bad if you just included “…and a nice goal anyways” at the end. haha.

  4. Just stating the facts. I didn’t say it wasn’t a nice goal. It was very nice. Just don’t have respect for the kind of player he is.

  5. Nope. Wrong. I REALLY don’t like the Sounders but that goal by Montero was INSANE. He played the backheel into the box initially and then while running away from goal he smashes it with the outside of his foot and even gets some bend on it to prevent Saunders from saving it. Felipe’s shot was nice, but not Montero nice. No way. No how.

  6. They whiny midfielder ‘Felipe the Flopper’ scores. Surprised he had time to score in between running his mouth, complaining and flopping all game long.
