SBI MLS Rookie of the Week: Luis Silva

After following his breakout play in the CONCACAF Champions League in March with a slow start to his first MLS campaign, Luis Silva has rediscovered his groove for Toronto FC.

Silva scored a goal and had his rebounded shot put home by Eric Hassli in Toronto FC's mid-week draw with the Portland Timbers, and he bounced back to go the distance against Sporting Kansas City over the weekend to collect SBI MLS Rookie of the Week honors. The goal was Silva's third on the season, all of which have come since July 11.

Silva edged out the likes of FC Dallas centerback Matt Hedges, who was a solid contributor in the back in the club's win at Vancouver and before being forced off with an injury in FCD's win at Real Salt Lake; Colorado's Tony Cascio, who was extremely active down the left flank in the Rapids' draw with Chivas USA; and D.C. United's Nick DeLeon, who had an apparent goal wiped off the board but turned in an overall solid 90 minutes against the Philadelphia Union.

What did you think of Silva's performances? Which rookie do you think had the best Week 24?
