SBI MLS Team of the Week: FC Dallas

FC Dallas picked up two upset victories over top Western Conference teams in a span of four days, and that made them this week's easy choice for SBI's MLS Team of the Week award.

After going on the road and blanking the Vancouver Whitecaps last Wednesday, FC Dallas beat Real Salt Lake, 2-1, through a late goal from David Ferreira on Saturday. The two wins put Dallas within striking distance of a playoff spot, something many thought was not possible as recently as a few weeks ago.

FC Dallas beat out the Montreal Impact, Seattle Sounders and Chicago Fire to claim this week's award.

What do you think of FC Dallas winning SBI's MLS Team of the Week honors? Should it have been someone else?

  1. +1 – everytime I start to like Dallas and Ferriera he takes another massive flop like he did in the Vancouver match and I’m reminded why I can’t cheer for these guys.

  2. does team of the week include an award for most time rolling around on the ground pretending to be hurt? I thought I was watching a Concacaf game at Rio Tinto Saturday night.

  3. [Insert predictable comment about (A) low attendance at FCD games and (B) bad location for FC Dallas stadium (fka Pizza Hut Park) in south Oklahoma]

  4. the front row of the picture are altidore clones… it may be time to change this silly tradition and have all 11 players stand in one row.

  5. It is pretty awesome that the team of the week includes a solid 71 minutes by 19 year old home grown player Jonathan Top, who had a goal and assist in that time.

Pretty good for his first minutes in the full team. Only a couple months ago he started getting significant minutes in the USYNT U-20s and scored 5 goals in the DA playoffs. This kid is in form right now and could climb past fellow HGP Ruben Luna in the depth charts while PĂ©rez and Sealy are injured.

Props to Ferriera for exploiting the newfound attention that teams are giving to the resurgent Castillo.
