Soccer Sunday: Your Running Commentary

ManUReuters

American fans of Manchester United who were disappointed by the club's absence from the World Football Challenge can get their preseason fix on Sunday morning, as the Red Devils travel to Norway to take on Valerenga in a nationally-televised friendly.

Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez, newly-signed Shinji Kagawa, and the rest of Manchester United will face off against the Norwegians in a preseason friendly in Oslo that could see former Los Angeles Galaxy striker Chad Barrett appear for Valerenga against the English giants.

In MLS play, four Western Conference teams will be in action as the Portland Timbers play host to FC Dallas, while the Seattle Sounders and Los Angeles Galaxy clash in a matchup between two teams separated by just one point in the standings.

Meanwhile, American striker Herculez Gomez and defending Mexican champions Santos Laguna will face off in the World Football Challenge against Spanish champions Real Madrid in Gomez's home town of Las Vegas.

  1. Well clearly that illegal ‘nudge’ on Wellbeck is a travesty. Com’mon ref we’re in minutge 41 and no penalty kick for Man U. Outrageous.

  2. O/T but do you think Clarence Goodson will be starting in the next WC if he’s healthy? Or can Gooch slide back into his starting role? Or will Ream/Cameron find a way to be starting next to Boca, if he’s on the roster
