Either way, the Olympic men's final will end with one of two teams claiming gold for the first time.
High-powered sides Brazil and Mexico do battle for the Olympic crown at Wembley Stadium Saturday to cap an end to what has been an entertaining tournament featuring a number of breakout stars.
Elsewhere, some of Europe's top clubs are in action in meaningful matches, as the Community Shield between Manchester City and Chelsea, German SuperCup between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund and SuperCoppa Italiana between Juventus and Napoli all provide appetizers for the upcoming seasons in England, Germany and Italy.
The Ligue 1 season gets underway as well, meaning the start of Paris Saint-Germain's highly anticipated campaign after a busy, free-spending summer in the transfer market. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his new teammates begin their season against Lorient.
In MLS, the New York Red Bulls get a chance to make up for their lackluster showing in Houston last week, hosting the Dynamo at Red Bull Arena. U.S. Open Cup finalists Sporting Kansas City and Seattle are back in action as well, facing difficult conference foes in D.C. United and San Jose, respectively, and the latest rivalry match between Chivas USA and the Los Angeles Galaxy caps the league's Week 23.

Are they not showing the MUFC vs Hannover game?
Trying to decide whether to watch on NBC Sports or Telemundo, don’t speak spanish.
Looks like I’ll have to say it first, “Houston will beat New York at Redbull Stadium tonight.” Go Dynamo!
hibs vs hearts will be better quality than anything offered by MLS.
Hibbs vs Hearts really wow ok I love soccer but not sure I could watch the SPL. Your more die hard then me. A solid weekend good games across the board.
Most of the weekend’s games will be over and JK can see if everyone came through them healthy.
No sense naming someone on Friday only to see them get hurt on Friday or Saturday.
There will not be an extended camp; this is just fly in,play, then leave.
games i’ll be watching:
hibs vs hearts
chelsea vs man city
it comes out Sunday. Why? No idea.
DirectTV & Dish supposedly have picked them up. More information should be available in a few days.
Waldo? Has anyone seen Waldo?
does anyone know where in the world carmen sandiego is?
Does anybody know the price of rice?
Does anybody know if beIN Sport has actually been picked up by any cable/satellite providers? On their site it only lists an option to ask your provider to carry the channel, but doesn’t imply that it’s come to an agreement with a single one. It’d be a shame in Ligue 1, La Liga and Serie A were only available via web stream all season
any idea if the US roster will come out today?
